Mainframe Modernization & Application Analysis Consultant Remote | Part-Time We are seeking a consultant with deep experience in Micro Focus Enterprise Analyzer and Mainframe application modernization projects. The ideal candidate will be skilled at extracting business rules, application flows, dependencies, and functional behavior from legacy Mainframe systems and leveraging modern AI tools to accelerate analysis, documentation, and knowledge transfer. Required Experience • Micro Focus Enterprise Analyzer • COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, VSAM • BMS / 3270 screen analysis • Mainframe application discovery and modernization • Business rule extraction and application decomposition • AI-assisted software analysis using Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar tools • Application documentation, knowledge capture, and modernization planning Responsibilities • Analyze legacy Mainframe applications using Micro Focus Enterprise Analyzer. • Extract and document business rules, workflows, dependencies, and application behavior. • Identify relationships between programs, databases, batch jobs, and online transactions. • Use AI tools to accelerate application understanding, documentation generation, and knowledge transfer. • Map legacy functionality to modern application architectures. • Help development teams understand converted applications and underlying business logic. • Produce maintainable technical and functional documentation that enables future enhancements. • Advise on best practices for AI-assisted application modernization and legacy system transformation. ## Engagement * Part-time consulting * Remote * Flexible hours * Initial engagement with possibility of extension ## To Apply Please share: 1.
