Manual QA Engineer for Mobile App

Availability: Must overlap with MST (Mountain Standard Time) business hours Preferred Location: Candidates in EST to PST time zones preferred Start Date: Immediately Experience Level: Intermediate–Expert Estimated Duration: Long-term contract (1+ year) About the project We're building a mobile application (Android, iOS, iPad, and Android tablets) backed by a cloud API that integrates with third-party Property Management Systems (PMS). We're looking for a detail-oriented Manual QA Engineer to own quality across the app and backend — finding bugs before our users do. This is a long-term role (1+ year) and we need someone who can start immediately. We prefer candidates located in the EST–PST time zones. - What you'll do Write and execute test plans and test cases for new features and regression cycles Perform manual functional testing across Android phones, iOS (iPhone), iPad, and Android tablets Validate the app on a range of screen sizes and form factors (phone, tablet, iPad layouts) Verify 16 KB memory page size support on newer Android devices (Pixel 9 and above) Manually test backend API endpoints (REST) — request/response validation, error handling, edge cases Validate PMS integration flows — data syncing, normalization, and routing between our backend and external systems Log clear, reproducible bug reports (steps, expected vs. actual, logs, screenshots/recordings) Verify fixes and run regression passes before each release - Requirements 3+ years in manual software QA (mobile + backend) Hands-on manual Android and iOS app testing across phones, tablets, and iPads You must own modern physical devices for each platform — a modern Android phone (Pixel 9 or newer for 16 KB page size testing), an iPhone, an iPad, and an Android tablet Familiarity with Android 16 KB page size support and testing on modern devices Manual API testing with Postman / Insomnia (and ideally reading API docs / Swagger) Strong grasp of test case design, edge cases, and regression strategy Excellent written English and clear, structured bug reports - Nice to have Experience testing PMS / hospitality / property-management or fintech integrations Basic SQL for verifying data in databases Familiarity with reading build/test logs - To apply, please include A brief note on your manual mobile (Android + iOS/iPad) + API testing experience The physical devices you own (model + OS version for each) An example of a tricky bug you found and how you isolated it Confirmation you can start immediately and work 20 hrs/week overlapping MST, plus your location/time zone 💡 Big plus: Include a short Loom video showcasing the physical devices you own (phones, tablets, iPad).
