Manual Software Tester for Web Application

We are looking for an intermediate-level manual software tester to help test features and bug fixes for an established web application. The tester will primarily work from written test cases and acceptance criteria in Jira. You will be responsible for carefully testing assigned tickets, documenting results, identifying unexpected behaviour, and providing clear reproduction steps for any issues found. Responsibilities Follow written test cases for feature and bug tickets in Jira Verify that reported bugs have been fixed and features have been implemented correctly against test criteria Perform regression testing to identify unintended impacts where necessary Test positive, negative, and edge-case scenarios Record test results clearly in Jira Create detailed bug reports with: - Steps to reproduce - Expected result - Actual result - Screenshots Retest issues after developers provide fixes Raise questions when requirements or test cases are unclear Communicate progress, blockers, and testing outcomes clearly Required Experience Previous manual testing experience with web applications Strong understanding of feature testing, regression testing, exploratory testing, and bug verification Experience working with Jira or a similar ticket-management system Ability to follow structured test cases accurately Ability to identify issues outside the documented test cases Strong attention to detail Clear written English Experience writing concise and reproducible bug reports Familiarity with browser developer tools Nice to Have Experience testing learning management systems, business platforms, or other workflow-based applications Experience testing forms, user permissions, document uploads, payments, reporting, or administrative workflows Basic understanding of APIs, databases, or SQL Experience working with remote software-development teams Role Details Remote contract role Work will be assigned through Jira Initial engagement with the possibility of ongoing work Availability required: Mon-Fri Preferred timezone overlap: GMT+10 Expected commitment: 20hrs/week This is primarily a manual testing role. Test automation is not required.
