Our experienced team provides extensive training, coaching, data monitoring, and tools to ensure each partner school develops capable teachers and delivers effective instruction to every child. We are expanding our quality assurance team and are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Manual Software Tester to help ensure the reliability and functionality of our software products. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining our high standards by identifying bugs, inconsistencies, and areas for improvement in our software. Core working hours will be between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM AEST, with occasional after-hours work as needed. Key Responsibilities: Test Planning and Design: Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product managers to understand requirements and design comprehensive test plans. Create, document, and maintain detailed test cases, test scripts, and test data based on functional and non-functional requirements. Develop a deep understanding of the product and its intended use to identify potential issues before they impact users. Manual Testing: Execute manual test cases across various platforms and environments to ensure software quality. Perform a variety of testing types, including functional, regression, integration, system, user acceptance testing (UAT), and exploratory testing. Identify, document, and track bugs and issues using issue tracking tools such as Jira, ensuring accurate reporting of defects with clear steps to reproduce. Work closely with the development team to verify bug fixes and enhancements. Provide help desk support by assisting in troubleshooting software issues raised by users and documenting solutions for future reference. Test Execution and Reporting: Run manual tests across multiple devices, operating systems, and browsers to ensure cross-platform compatibility. Record test results, log defects, and produce detailed test reports that clearly communicate findings to the wider team. Provide feedback and suggestions for product improvements, focusing on user experience and functionality. Collaboration and Communication: Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospective meetings as part of the agile development process. Collaborate effectively with developers, QA engineers, and stakeholders to clarify requirements, discuss issues, and ensure that testing covers all scenarios. Assist in the preparation and delivery of user acceptance testing (UAT) by coordinating with end-users and stakeholders. Continuous Improvement: Continuously refine testing strategies to improve efficiency, coverage, and effectiveness. Stay informed of industry trends, best practices, and emerging tools and techniques in software testing. Contribute to the creation and maintenance of testing standards and procedures to enhance the overall QA process. Key Skills and Qualifications: Proven experience as a Manual Software Tester or in a similar role. Strong understanding of software development and testing methodologies, including agile practices. Experience with test management and issue tracking tools such as Jira, TestRail, or similar. Ability to create and execute detailed test cases and document defects with precision. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and database querying (SQL) is a plus. Familiarity with testing across different platforms, including web, mobile, and desktop applications.
