Manual QA Tester — Multi-Tenant B2B SaaS Web App (Ongoing, Part-Time)
Worldwide
We're a B2B SaaS platform for industrial and commercial property inspections, serving business customers in California. We have a working application in a dedicated QA/staging environment and a documented test plan with ~170 test cases. We need a detail-oriented manual QA tester to execute those test cases, find bugs, and file clear, reproducible reports. This is ongoing, part-time work (around 10 hours/week) starting with a paid trial. If the first ~10 hours go well, we continue on a weekly basis. ── WHAT YOU'LL DO ── • Execute test cases from our existing, checklist-style test plan • Test workflows across 6 different user roles (Admin, Account Owner, Account Manager, Account Viewer, Inspector, Contractor) — different roles see and can do different things • Verify forms, field validations, file/photo uploads, and email notifications • Run cross-browser checks on Chrome, Safari, and Firefox (desktop) plus mobile Safari (iPhone) and mobile Chrome (Android) • File bugs as GitHub Issues using a structured template we provide (screenshots, steps to reproduce, expected vs. actual, browser/device, console errors) • Re-test fixes after our developers push changes ── WHAT WE PROVIDE ── • A detailed test plan document with checklist-style test cases • Login credentials for each of the 6 user roles in our QA environment • Pre-seeded sample data in the QA environment (you won't have to build test data) • A GitHub repo with a ready-made bug-report issue template (you file and comment on issues; you do NOT get access to our source code) • A Slack or email channel for clarification questions ── WHAT YOU NEED ── • 2+ years of manual QA experience on web applications • Comfortable with role-based testing (verifying that each user role sees the right things and is blocked from the wrong things) • Strong written English — your bug reports need to be clear enough for a developer to reproduce the issue without asking you follow-up questions • Reliable internet and the ability to test on at least 2 desktop browsers plus a mobile device • Available ~10 hours/week, with overlap or quick turnaround for clarification questions • Bonus: experience testing multi-tenant SaaS, file-upload features, role/permission systems, or property/real-estate software ── HOW THIS STARTS ── • Paid trial: roughly 10 hours executing a defined subset of our test plan • Deliverable: bugs filed as GitHub Issues + a short written summary of overall web application quality and the biggest pain points you found • If the quality is good, we continue with ongoing weekly hours We track time through UpWork. Please apply only if you can do hands-on manual testing yourself (no subcontracting / agencies passing work to an unnamed third party).
