Manual Vector Reconstruction and Production Cleanup of Three Apparel Brand Logos

Summary

Job Posting I am launching Old Stock, a heritage-inspired American maritime apparel brand. I have three completed logo concepts that were created with AI assistance and now need to be professionally reconstructed, refined, and prepared for commercial production. The three concepts include: A primary logo featuring a Grand Union–inspired maritime flag, the Old Stock wordmark, and a compass detail A secondary logo featuring a waving flag, Old Stock wordmark, and rope-and-knot underline A circular crest featuring the flag, rope border, laurel branches, crossed oars, wordmark, and “Est. 2026” The overall design direction is vintage, maritime, engraved, and traditionally American. I want to preserve that character while correcting inconsistencies, cleaning the artwork, and creating a versatile professional logo system. This is not a request for an automatic image trace or a completely new logo design. The selected designer should manually reconstruct the artwork as clean vector graphics and use professional judgment to correct obvious AI-generated irregularities. Scope of Work The designer will: Manually redraw all three supplied logo concepts as true vector artwork Preserve the overall compositions and established visual identity Correct uneven curves, asymmetry, malformed details, inconsistent linework, and other AI-generated artifacts Clean and standardize the typography Refine kerning, letter spacing, alignment, and visual balance Reconstruct the flags accurately and consistently across all three logos Clean up the flagpoles, ropes, knots, compass, laurel branches, oars, and engraved shading Standardize line weights where appropriate Simplify excessive texture or detail that would reproduce poorly Organize all major components into separate, clearly named layers Prepare versions appropriate for printing, digital use, screen printing, and embroidery Preserve a vintage engraved appearance without creating unnecessarily complicated or unusable vector paths Any significant compositional changes should be presented for approval before being incorporated into the final artwork. Required Deliverables 1. Editable master files For each of the three logos, provide: Adobe Illustrator .AI Scalable Vector Graphics .SVG Encapsulated PostScript .EPS Vector .PDF The Illustrator files must be fully editable and contain: Clearly named and organized layers Separate objects for each major component Clean vector paths Reasonable and efficient anchor-point construction No embedded raster images in the final vector artwork No flattened full-logo image treated as a vector No clipping-mask workaround used in place of properly constructed artwork Suggested layer organization includes: Flag Flagpole Pole hardware or finial Rope Knot Wordmark Compass Underline Laurel branches Oars Crest border Engraving or texture Background, when applicable 2. Typography files Please provide: One master version retaining editable live text One production version with all fonts converted to vector outlines A list of all fonts used Links or instructions for legally acquiring the fonts Confirmation of whether each font is free for commercial use or requires a separate license If the existing lettering must be manually reconstructed rather than matched to a font, please explain that in your proposal. 3. Full logo configurations Provide the following completed configurations: Primary logo Full logo with flag, pole, rope, Old Stock wordmark, compass, and underline Full logo without the compass Flag and pole without the wordmark or bottom elements Flag only Flag and pole only Old Stock wordmark only Compass and underline only Secondary logo Full logo with flag, pole, wordmark, rope, and knot Flag and pole without the wordmark Flag only Flag and pole only Old Stock wordmark only Rope-and-knot underline only Circular crest Full detailed crest Crest without “Est. 2026” Crest without the crossed oars Flag and pole icon extracted from the crest Rope border only Laurel elements only Old Stock curved wordmark only Simplified crest for smaller reproduction The purpose of these separate assets is to allow the brand marks to be used flexibly on apparel, hats, outerwear, neck labels, hang tags, packaging, social media, and the company website. 4. Color variations For every main logo and major standalone asset, provide: Full-color version Solid navy one-color version Solid black one-color version Solid white reversed version Grayscale version Version suitable for placement on light backgrounds Version suitable for placement on dark backgrounds Please establish and document a consistent brand palette for: Navy Heritage red Cream or off-white Gold or tan, if retained Provide the following values for each approved brand color: Pantone recommendation, where practical CMYK RGB HEX The same navy and red should be used consistently across all three logos unless there is a clear production reason to vary them. 5. Apparel-printing files Provide high-resolution transparent PNG exports for the complete logos and agreed standalone assets. Requirements: Transparent background 300 DPI at intended production size RGB versions for print-on-demand platforms CMYK print versions where appropriate Cleanly cropped artboards No unintended cream or white background box Sufficient resolution for large back-of-shirt printing File names that clearly identify the logo, variation, color, and intended use Examples: OldStock_Primary_FullColor_RGB.png OldStock_Primary_OneColorNavy.svg OldStock_Secondary_ReversedWhite.png OldStock_Crest_Simplified_Embroidery.ai 6. Embroidery-ready artwork The brand will initially sell embroidered hats and may offer embroidered rain jackets or sailing outerwear. Please create simplified vector versions specifically for embroidery, including: Simplified flag icon Simplified flag-and-pole icon Simplified primary logo Simplified secondary logo, if practical Simplified circular crest One-color embroidery versions Versions designed for navy and white garments Embroidery artwork should account for: Minimum line thickness Small lettering limitations Reduced engraved hatching Simplified rope and knot details Reduced color count Clean separation between adjacent shapes Legibility at typical hat and left-chest sizes I do not necessarily need a machine-specific .DST stitch file unless the designer offers professional embroidery digitization. The main requirement is clean vector artwork suitable for later digitization by the production provider. Please include recommended minimum reproduction sizes for each embroidery version. 7. Small-size and simplified logo versions Some of the full logos contain substantial engraved detail. Please create simplified versions that remain recognizable when used for: Hat embroidery Left-chest embroidery Woven labels Printed neck labels Small website icons Social-media profile images Stickers Hang tags The simplified versions should retain the identity of the original artwork without becoming muddy or illegible. 8. Raster export package Please provide transparent PNG exports of the approved logos and standalone assets in practical sizes, including: Large print-ready files Medium web-use files Small digital-use files Square social-profile version High-resolution JPG previews on a neutral background 9. Basic brand usage guide Provide a concise PDF brand sheet covering: Primary logo Secondary logo Crest logo Standalone flag icon Wordmark Approved colors Font names Minimum recommended sizes Clear-space recommendations Appropriate light- and dark-background versions Basic examples of incorrect use Recommended logo applications for apparel, hats, outerwear, packaging, and web This does not need to be a full branding project or extensive brand book. A concise, practical usage guide is sufficient. 10. Ownership and commercial rights Upon final payment, I require: Full ownership of the final commissioned artwork Exclusive commercial usage rights to the final reconstructed logo files Permission to modify, reproduce, sublicense, trademark, print, embroider, manufacture, and distribute products using the artwork Delivery of all editable source files Confirmation that no unlicensed third-party illustrations, stock graphics, fonts, or protected brand assets have been incorporated Disclosure of any third-party licensed resources used in the project The designer may request permission before displaying the finished work publicly in a portfolio. Quality Requirements Final files must meet the following standards: Artwork is genuinely rebuilt as vector graphics No one-click auto-trace submitted as the finished product Smooth, deliberate curves Clean flag geometry Consistent typography across the logo family No obvious AI artifacts No malformed rope, knot, flagpole, oar, laurel, or compass details Reasonable number of anchor points Properly closed vector shapes where needed Clean registration between colors No accidental gaps or overlapping shapes No embedded watermarks No unnecessary raster textures Logos remain recognizable in one color Simplified versions remain legible at small sizes Ideal Designer The ideal freelancer will have experience with: Manual vector reconstruction Adobe Illustrator Logo cleanup and production preparation Vintage engraving or woodcut-style illustration Apparel graphics Screen-printing artwork Embroidery simplification Brand identity systems Maritime, heritage, outdoor, or traditionally styled branding Experience creating clean production files for print-on-demand platforms, screen printers, embroiderers, or apparel manufacturers is strongly preferred. What to Include in Your Proposal Please provide: Examples of logos you manually reconstructed from raster or AI-generated references Examples of vintage engraved, woodcut, maritime, or heritage-style illustration work Examples of apparel or embroidery-ready artwork Confirmation that the work will be manually reconstructed rather than simply auto-traced The software you will use Your proposed workflow and review process Your estimated completion timeline Your fixed-price quote The number of revision rounds included Confirmation that editable source files and commercial rights are included An explanation of how you would simplify the detailed artwork for embroidery without losing the brand identity Please begin your proposal with the words “Old Stock Vector Project” so I know you have read the complete posting. I will provide: High-resolution reference images of all three logo concepts Notes identifying the intended primary, secondary, and crest logos Examples of expected uses, including T-shirts, hats, and outerwear Feedback during the reconstruction process
