Mechanical Engineer / CAD Designer Needed for Innovative Professional Window Cleaning Tool
Worldwide
I am developing a premium professional window cleaning squeegee under my new brand, Joslin & Co. The industrial design and overall appearance are already established. I am not looking for someone to redesign the product aesthetically. I am looking for a mechanical engineer to develop the internal mechanisms while preserving the existing exterior design and prepare the product for 3D prototyping. This may become a long-term project as we continue toward manufacturing. Project Goals Engineer a functional prototype of a professional window cleaning squeegee with: Ergonomic handle Swivel mechanism Adjustable head angle Internal pivot mechanism Hidden detailing tool integrated into the pivot assembly Standard professional aluminum squeegee channel The goal is to create a premium professional tool that can eventually be manufactured. Features To Engineer Swivel Mechanism Design a smooth, durable swivel suitable for professional daily use. Angle Adjustment The squeegee head should allow multiple locking positions. I'm open to the best engineering solution. Twist-Lock Pivot Module One of the primary concepts is a central pivot module that performs multiple functions. The pivot should: serve as the structural pivot adjust head angle use a quarter-turn twist lock provide access to an internal detailing tool If you believe there is a better mechanical solution while preserving the appearance, I welcome recommendations. Integrated Detailing Tool Inside the pivot module is a removable rubber detailing insert inspired by the Unger Ninja detailing tip. The detailing insert should: remain hidden during normal cleaning slide securely into the handle be easily removable withstand commercial use Channel Use a traditional professional aluminum squeegee channel similar to an Ettore brass channel. No redesign of the channel profile is required. Deliverables Complete 3D CAD Assembly Functional moving mechanisms Exploded assembly STEP files STL files Bill of Materials Engineering drawings Design suitable for 3D printing Recommendations for future injection molding Preferred Software SolidWorks Fusion 360 Autodesk Inventor Experience Required Please provide examples of products you've designed that include: Pivots Hinges Locking mechanisms Springs Detents Consumer products Hand tools Moving assemblies Important Please do not redesign the appearance of the product. The exterior appearance is already part of the product identity. The primary objective is engineering the internal mechanisms while preserving the current design language.
