Mechanical Engineer Needed for Laser Cutting Shop Ventilation Requirements & State Plan Approval

I am seeking a mechanical/HVAC engineer licensed in New Mexico with experience in industrial ventilation to provide documentation and recommendations for a CID building plan review. I operate a small manufacturing shop that uses laser cutting equipment for metal and wood fabrication. The state has requested additional information regarding the ventilation requirements for the laser equipment, including exhaust airflow (CFM) and filtration requirements. I need an engineer who can review the laser equipment specifications and provide written requirements that can be added to the plans and submitted to the state. Scope of Work: Review laser equipment and provide recommended ventilation requirements, including: 1. Outdoor Exhaust Requirements Required exhaust airflow (CFM) per laser machine Exhaust discharge requirements Any applicable ventilation codes or standards 2. Indoor Filtered Recirculation Requirements (if applicable) Required particulate filtration efficiency Required filtration level Activated carbon or gas-phase filtration requirements for smoke, odors, or VOCs Maintenance requirements For Example: "Provide a Level 3 (Avg Industrial) filtration system with a minimum of 93.3% particulate filtration efficiency, with activated carbon or equivalent gas-phase filtration when processing materials that generate smoke, odors, or VOCs. Filtration equipment shall be installed and maintained according to the manufacturer's recommendations." I need an engineer to verify whether these requirements are appropriate or revise them based on: Applicable mechanical codes OSHA/NFPA standards Laser manufacturer recommendations Industrial ventilation best practices Equipment: 1,000W IPG fiber laser cutter CO₂ laser cutters Materials processed: Mild steel Stainless steel Aluminum Wood MDF/engineered wood Deliverables: Written engineering recommendation suitable for state review Recommended exhaust and filtration specifications Applicable code/standard references Suggested plan notes/callouts Ideal Candidate: Mechanical Engineer or HVAC engineer PE license preferred but not required Experience with industrial ventilation systems Experience with laser cutting, welding, fabrication, or manufacturing facilities preferred Please provide: Your relevant experience Whether you are a licensed PE Estimated cost and turnaround time Thank you!
