Mechanical Engineer for Consumer Product Design, Injection Molding & DFM

I am an independent inventor seeking an experienced mechanical/product development engineer to help refine a patent-pending tabletop sports game for commercial manufacturing. The invention has already been developed and documented in a detailed provisional patent application. I am now looking for an engineer to transform the concept into a production-ready consumer product. The project is not about inventing the game. Instead, the focus is on engineering optimization, manufacturability, and cost reduction. Responsibilities Review existing invention drawings and specifications Refine the design of the gliding game piece Design and optimize the goal assembly Improve durability and ease of assembly Recommend suitable manufacturing materials Design for Injection Molding (DFM) Reduce manufacturing cost while maintaining performance Prepare professional CAD models and production drawings Assist with prototype development using 3D printing where appropriate Desired Experience Consumer product development Plastic part design Injection molding Design for Manufacturing (DFM) Mechanical engineering SolidWorks (preferred) Fusion 360 or equivalent CAD software Prototype development Experience bringing products to manufacturing The selected engineer may continue working on future phases including prototype refinement, tooling review, manufacturing support, and production preparation.
