Mechanical/Product Design Engineer for CAD Conversion

Job Description: We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer / Product Design Engineer for the next stage of a handheld electronics project. Important: this is not an early concept design job. The visual direction has already been approved. We now need a specialist who can take the approved render and convert it into a precise, editable 3D CAD model suitable for further prototyping, Design for Manufacturing, and manufacturing development. About the product: handheld portable measuring device 2.8" display main rotary control wheel with push function separate side power button USB-C port premium modern technical instrument character anodized aluminum body direction target protection level: IP65 Scope of work: recreate the approved render as a detailed 3D CAD model preserve the approved visual design as closely as possible develop realistic enclosure logic and part breakdown integrate display, rotary wheel, side power button, and USB-C think through basic assembly logic and product structure consider Design for Manufacturing from the beginning develop the enclosure with the IP65 target in mind, especially around part split, controls, seals, and port areas prepare files suitable for engineering handoff / prototyping / manufacturing development What we need from you: strong CAD skills experience with handheld electronics or technical device enclosures ability to translate approved product visuals into mechanically believable geometry understanding of enclosure design, part split, assembly logic, sealing approach, and Design for Manufacturing ability to deliver editable source files Expected deliverables: editable native CAD source files STEP files enclosure parts breakdown, if applicable orthographic views / model screenshots basic notes on structure, assembly assumptions, sealing approach, and manufacturing logic if needed Please apply with: relevant portfolio examples, especially handheld electronics / enclosures CAD software you use experience converting approved renders into production-oriented CAD experience with Design for Manufacturing experience designing products with sealing / ingress protection requirements estimated timeline fixed-price quote for this phase Additional note: We will share the approved render and supporting notes with shortlisted candidates.
