Media Buying Director (Meta-focused)
Worldwide
Click Hive is looking for a highly experienced paid social operator to help architect, strengthen and lead the media buying side of the agency. This is not a standard media buyer role. We are looking for someone who can: • Analyze how our current media buying department operates • Identify operational weaknesses and bottlenecks • Architect stronger systems and workflows • Help standardize execution quality across the team • Improve communication and collaboration between media buyers and creative • Create stronger structure for reporting, QA and accountability • Help build a more collaborative media buying culture • Introduce stronger systems for knowledge sharing and strategic sparring between media buyers • Provide strategic leadership across accounts • Mentor and develop media buyers over time • Support the founder with hiring and recruitment for the media buying department This is initially intended to be a part-time/fractional role in the region of approximately 5–20 hours per week depending on fit, availability and involvement level. The role will initially begin with analyzing and improving the department structure itself. The right person may then transition into a more ongoing leadership role within the agency. ABOUT CLICK HIVE Click Hive is a UK-based performance marketing agency established in 2019. We work with clients across multiple industries including: • eCommerce • SaaS • Apps • Lead generation In addition to media buying, we also produce high-volume, performance-focused ad creatives in-house. We are currently a team of approximately 10 people and pride ourselves on: • High standards of work • Strong attention to detail • Creativity and fast iteration • Clear communication • Delivering strong measurable results for clients CURRENT SETUP The team currently consists of: • Founder-led media buying • 2 freelance senior paid social media buyers • 1 part-time junior media buyer • 1 Google Ads freelancer The department has grown organically over time and is currently heavily founder-dependent. We are now looking to mature and standardize the department operationally while maintaining a strong performance-driven culture. PLATFORMS Main focus: • Meta Ads (approximately 90% of managed spend) Additional exposure: • TikTok • Reddit • Pinterest • Google • Snapchat Creative testing is a major part of our agency and our workflows are highly creative-driven. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR We are specifically looking for someone who: • Has deep hands-on Meta experience • Has managed and scaled meaningful ad spend personally • Understands creative testing at a high level • Has experience building, leading or improving paid social teams/processes • Understands operational structure, QA, reporting systems and workflow management • Can identify weaknesses quickly and propose practical improvements • Is highly detail-oriented • Communicates clearly and directly • Is comfortable giving feedback and setting standards • Still thinks like an operator, not just a consultant Very important: We are NOT looking for someone who only talks strategy at a high level. We are also NOT looking for someone whose contribution is limited to producing vague AI-generated strategy documents, theoretical SOPs or overly corporate systems that never get implemented. We want someone who: • Has actually operated accounts deeply • Understands the realities of scaling paid social accounts • Understands media buyer workflows and operational pressure • Can bridge strategy and execution • Can implement practical systems in real working environments • Can actively lead and improve those systems over time • Can help build a department that becomes less founder-dependent over time INITIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Phase 1: • Review current media buying structure and workflows • Review account ownership structure • Identify bottlenecks and operational weaknesses • Review QA and reporting processes • Review collaboration between media buying and creative • Speak with team members where relevant • Provide practical recommendations and restructuring ideas • Recommend improved systems for communication, reporting and accountability • Help define clearer operational standards for the department Phase 2 (for the right fit): • Ongoing leadership/support role • Running regular media buying calls • Helping improve standards and processes • Mentoring/supporting media buyers • Helping scale the department sustainably • Supporting hiring and recruitment efforts for the department • Helping architect a stronger long-term media buying structure inside Click Hive TO APPLY, PLEASE INCLUDE: • A short overview of your background • Examples of paid social accounts you have personally managed/scaled • Any experience leading paid social teams or departments • Your current timezone/location • Your typical hourly rate • Why this role specifically interests you
