Medical Biller / Billing Specialist – Mental Health, Behavioral Health, PT, OT & Psychiatry

We are looking for an experienced Medical Biller / Billing Specialist to join our healthcare billing team on a long-term basis. The ideal candidate must have 5+ years of hands-on medical billing experience, preferably working with mental health, behavioral health, psychiatry, physical therapy (PT), and/or occupational therapy (OT) practices. Responsibilities include managing the complete medical billing and revenue cycle process, submitting and correcting claims, verifying eligibility and benefits, following up on unpaid, pending, rejected, and denied claims, managing insurance AR, researching and resolving denials, preparing appeals, handling authorizations when required, posting ERAs/EOBs and payments, reviewing CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, modifiers, POS, and units for accuracy, communicating with insurance companies, maintaining detailed billing notes, and assisting with patient accounts. The candidate must have hands-on experience with SimplePractice, TherapyNotes, TheraNest, AthenaOne/athenahealth, eClinicalWorks (eCW), Office Ally, and AdvancedMD; experience with additional EHRs, clearinghouses, and payer portals is a plus. Minimum 5 years of professional medical billing experience is required, along with strong knowledge of medical billing, claims submission, denial management, AR follow-up, corrected claims, appeals, CPT/ICD-10 coding, insurance requirements, and revenue cycle management. Experience in mental health/behavioral health billing is highly preferred, while psychiatry, PT, and OT billing experience is a strong advantage. The candidate must be detail-oriented, organized, reliable, responsive, and capable of working independently.
