Medical Billing & AR Management

Summary We are seeking a highly organized and results-driven Medical Billing, Accounts Receivable (AR), and Denial Management Specialist with demonstrated expertise in outpatient physical therapy billing to support our growing clinic based in Bend, Oregon. This role focuses on maximizing reimbursements, reducing AR aging, resolving denied claims, and ensuring an efficient revenue cycle. The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing Workers' Compensation and Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) claims and is proficient with Tebra (Kareo) practice management software. Key Responsibilities Manage the complete medical billing and revenue cycle for an outpatient physical therapy clinic. Submit clean and accurate claims to commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, Workers' Compensation, and MVA payers. Monitor and manage Accounts Receivable to ensure timely reimbursement and reduce outstanding balances. Investigate, appeal, and resolve denied, rejected, and underpaid claims. Follow up with insurance carriers, adjusters, attorneys, and patients regarding unpaid claims and outstanding balances. Manage Workers' Compensation and Motor Vehicle Accident claims from billing through final payment. Post payments, reconcile accounts, and ensure accurate payment application. Collaborate with clinic staff to obtain documentation needed for claim submission and appeals. Analyze AR reports, denial trends, and reimbursement data to improve collections and revenue performance. Maintain compliance with payer guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and industry billing standards. Required Qualifications 3+ years of experience in medical billing, Accounts Receivable, and Denial Management, preferably in outpatient physical therapy. Proven track record of reducing AR aging and improving collections. Extensive experience with Workers' Compensation and Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) billing. Hands-on experience using Tebra (formerly Kareo) for billing, claims management, and reporting. Strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10, modifiers, insurance verification, and payer guidelines. Experience with electronic claim submission, payment posting, and insurance follow-up. Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and consistently meet billing and collection goals. Preferred Qualifications Experience billing for outpatient rehabilitation or physical therapy clinics. Knowledge of Oregon Workers' Compensation billing requirements. CPC, CPB, or other medical billing certification. Experience working with multiple commercial payers and Medicare. Data-driven mindset with experience analyzing AR, denial trends, and revenue cycle performance.
