Medical Claims Specialist – Personal Injury Law Firm

Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Claims Specialist to join our growing personal injury law firm. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing medical records, medical billing, patient treatment coordination, and claims-related documentation for personal injury cases. This role is critical in ensuring clients receive appropriate medical care while supporting attorneys with accurate case documentation and lien management. Key Responsibilities *Coordinate and manage client medical treatment throughout the life of the case. * Communicate regularly with medical providers, clients, insurance companies, and case managers. * Obtain, review, organize, and summarize medical records and billing statements. * Track client treatment progress and ensure all medical documentation is up to date. * Verify, reconcile, and analyze medical bills for accuracy and completeness. * Assist with medical lien resolution, reductions, and negotiations. * Prepare medical chronologies, treatment summaries, and damages reports. * Identify missing records, bills, or treatment gaps and follow up accordingly. * Maintain case management systems and ensure accurate documentation. * Support attorneys and paralegals in case preparation, demand packages, and settlement negotiations. * Monitor case deadlines and assist with obtaining final billing and records before settlement. Qualifications * Minimum 3 years of experience in personal injury law, medical claims, medical billing, or healthcare administration. * Strong understanding of personal injury case management and medical documentation. * Experience handling medical records, billing audits, liens, and treatment coordination. * Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, health insurance, and provider lien processes is preferred. * Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities in a fast-paced environment. * Proficiency with case management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Experience * Prior experience working for a personal injury law firm. * Knowledge of demand preparation and settlement documentation. * Experience reviewing and summarizing medical records and treatment histories.
