Meta Ads & Tracking Operator — Fine-Art Account, GA4 and Attribution

Posted 3 weeks ago

Summary

We manage a small Meta/Instagram advertising account for an established fine-art photographer and premium visual brand. This is not a scaling or “growth hacking” position. The historical advertising budget is approximately $30 per day. At that level, careless experimentation fragments the data and wastes money. We cannot hold the Creative Olympics every week and expect Meta to produce a meaningful winner. We need someone who can look at Meta, GA4 and the landing-page journey and tell us—plainly—what is happening, what is uncertain and what should happen next. The complete journey is: Meta delivery → landing-page visit → artwork viewed → inquiry → qualified inquiry → sale Today, parts of that chain are imperfectly connected. Your job is not to manufacture a confident ROI story. Your job is to establish the truth and improve the chain. If the honest answer is “we don’t know yet,” that is perfectly acceptable—provided you can explain why we don’t know and how to find out. WHAT YOU WOULD OWN You would begin by confirming that we have durable, company-controlled access to the correct Meta Business Portfolio and advertising account. No shared personal Facebook passwords, and no contractor should become the only person capable of operating the account. You would then establish a clear picture of: • What campaigns and ads exist • What is active • What actually served • What spent money • What tracking currently works • Where attribution stops • What should be tested next You should be comfortable investigating Meta Pixel events, UTMs, GA4, Google Tag Manager and landing-page behavior. A read-only Meta Marketing API connection may also be needed, but this is not primarily an API-development job. We care about the meaning behind the numbers. A screenshot showing clicks, reach or CTR is not analysis. Tell us why something happened, what evidence supports that conclusion and what remains unproven. The WHY matters more than the pretty graph. HOW WE WORK The account is approval-gated. You may investigate, document and recommend freely, but you may not change budgets, audiences, placements, creative, campaign status or tracking configuration without written approval. When something is unclear, we expect: acknowledge → investigate → explain → recommend → prove → close During active assignments, acknowledge directed requests within two business hours of your stated working window. If you are blocked, identify the exact blocker, the person who owns it and what you can still do without waiting. “Investigating” is a temporary status, not a permanent home. We prefer working directly with the person doing the investigation. Agencies hiding the operator behind an account manager are not a fit. THIS IS PROBABLY YOU IF You have personally managed Meta advertising accounts and diagnosed problems involving tracking, analytics or landing-page behavior. You can: • Work inside Meta Ads Manager at campaign, ad-set and ad level • Troubleshoot Pixel events, GA4, GTM and UTMs • Explain discrepancies between Meta clicks and website activity • Design sensible tests for a small advertising budget • Separate fact, inference and insufficient evidence • Communicate clearly without being chased • Use AI tools without presenting unchecked AI output as your work Fine-art, photography or other high-consideration purchase experience is helpful, but good technical judgment matters more. ENGAGEMENT This is a small and uneven account—not a guaranteed 20–30-hour weekly position. We will begin with: • A two-hour paid audition • A limited setup and diagnostic phase • Small, event-based assignments afterward • Possible recurring monitoring if your work proves useful We do not want to pay someone to manufacture monthly activity when the account does not require it. THE TWO-HOUR PAID AUDITION You will receive redacted Meta and analytics evidence. There will be no production credentials and no permission to change a live campaign. We will ask you to: 1. Explain what you believe is happening. 2. Separate verified facts, assumptions and important unknowns. 3. Recommend the three highest-value next actions. 4. Identify one action you would refuse to take without better evidence. 5. Provide a brief midpoint update without being reminded. 6. Show the evidence behind your final conclusion. The test is the interview. No introductory meeting is required. TO APPLY Start your proposal with: READ-ONLY FIRST Then answer: 1. Describe one Meta or tracking problem you personally diagnosed. What initially appeared wrong, what was the actual cause and what evidence proved your conclusion? 2. With an approximately $30/day account, how would you decide how many creative or audience tests can run without making the results meaningless? 3. If Meta reports clicks but GA4 shows little meaningful engagement, what would you inspect before recommending new creative? 4. State your exact recurring working-hour overlap with US Eastern Time and confirm that you will complete the two-hour paid audition. Include one anonymized work sample that demonstrates judgment—not merely an Ads Manager screenshot or an AI-generated checklist.
