UE 5.8 MetaHuman – Convert Character to Modular Wardrobe Setup

Summary

I have a fully rigged MetaHuman character in Unreal Engine 5.8. The character currently wears a T-shirt and shorts, but the T-shirt and shorts are connected as a single skeletal mesh. Because of this, I cannot independently swap the shirt or shorts for other clothing. I am looking for someone experienced with UE 5.8 MetaHumans to convert the character's existing setup to support modular, independently swappable clothing so that I can use the current MetaHuman Wardrobe / Outfit Asset workflow.
