Microsoft Word Template Architecture Expert
Worldwide
Microsoft Word Template / Normal.dotm Style Architecture Specialist Purpose of the role We are seeking a Microsoft Word template architecture expert to support an accessible document template project. The consultant will review, repair, and validate a global Word style foundation, including Normal.dotm and selected .dotx templates, so that default styles, headings, lists, tables, captions, footers, table of contents, metadata, and ribbon-applied formatting behave consistently and support accessible document creation. This is not a general document formatting role. The ideal consultant must understand advanced Microsoft Word template behavior, including styles, list templates, table styles, the Home ribbon, the Table Design gallery, hidden/orphaned styles, and deployment behavior across user machines. Primary objective The consultant will help create a stable Word authoring environment where staff can create documents using approved styles without accidentally introducing inaccessible or inconsistent formatting. The consultant’s work should ensure that when users open Word and use common authoring tools — headings, bullets, numbering, multilevel lists, tables, captions, footers, and TOCs — the resulting document remains aligned with the approved accessible style system. Files/materials to be provided The consultant should receive: Current or draft Normal.dotm file. Source Word document used to generate the exported style inventory. Excel workbook/export containing all embedded Word styles. Core styles sample/reference document. Selected .dotx templates. Meeting notes or decision log for fonts, spacing, tables, captions, and footers. Any sample documents where unwanted fonts, orphan styles, or list/table issues appear. Screenshots or reproduction steps for known Word behavior issues. The consultant cannot fully diagnose or repair ribbon/list/table behavior from an Excel export alone. The actual Word files are required.
