Mobile Game Marketing Specialist – Grow Android/iOS Games on a Small Budget
Worldwide
We are an independent game developer looking for an experienced mobile game marketing / user acquisition specialist who knows how to successfully market mobile games with a limited advertising budget (approximately $1000/month initially). We are not looking for someone who simply knows how to set up Google Ads or Meta campaigns. We want someone who understands mobile gaming, player acquisition, app-store growth, creative testing, and how to get the most possible installs and engaged players from a small budget. What We Need We are looking for someone who can help develop and execute a practical marketing strategy for our mobile games, including: Google App Campaigns / Google Ads Meta / Instagram advertising Mobile game user acquisition Google Play Store optimization (ASO) Testing screenshots, icons, trailers, and ad creatives Identifying the best audiences and countries to target Tracking CPI, conversion rates, retention, and other important metrics Finding low-cost or free promotional opportunities Gaming communities, Reddit, Discord, forums, YouTube creators, TikTok, etc. Influencer / micro-influencer outreach where it makes financial sense Organic strategies that complement paid advertising Helping determine where our limited marketing dollars will generate the best ROI The Challenge Our initial paid advertising budget is only around $1000 per month, so efficiency is extremely important. We understand that this is not enough to compete with major mobile game publishers. The goal is to intelligently test different channels, identify what works, eliminate what doesn't, and gradually build a repeatable acquisition strategy. If campaigns demonstrate positive results, the advertising budget can increase. Ideal Candidate You should have actual experience marketing mobile games, preferably indie or smaller-budget games. Please do not apply if your experience is primarily with general e-commerce, local businesses, or traditional digital marketing unless you also have meaningful mobile gaming experience. We are especially interested in candidates who understand: Google Play marketing Android game acquisition Mobile game KPIs CPI and ROAS optimization App Store Optimization Creative A/B testing Player retention and monetization Indie game marketing Working with small advertising budgets Experience launching a game from very little existing traffic would be particularly valuable. When Applying Please include: Examples of mobile games you have marketed. The approximate advertising budgets you managed. Results you achieved, such as CPI, installs, ROAS, retention, or revenue growth. What you would prioritize if you only had $1000/month in ad spend for a new mobile game. Which advertising platforms you believe are currently most effective for indie mobile games. Any experience you have with organic/community-based game marketing. Important: Please start your application with the words “INDIE GAME” so we know you read the full job description. We currently have multiple mobile game projects, so this could become an ongoing relationship if we find someone who can produce measurable results.
