Product Designer — SaaS Mobile App (Contract, Remote) About Us ConstructionClock is one of Manitoba’s fastest growing tech companies, building the world’s best time-tracking app for construction crews and un-desked teams. Our mission is to automate complicated tasks for the hardest working people in the world. The Engagement We’re looking for a contract Product Designer to work with our product team on the ConstructionClock experience. You’ll own design for scoped feature work end-to-end — from concepting through polished, handoff-ready execution — and contribute to our cross-platform design system. You’ll be designing for busy, non-technical users working in real-world environments, where speed, clarity, and well-designed solutions matter. This is a fully remote contract engagement. We work with a few hours of overlap with Central Time for collaboration and review, but hours are otherwise flexible. Deliverables • High-fidelity UI designs in Figma for assigned features, handoff-ready across iOS, Android, and web • Wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes • New and refined components for our cross-platform design system, with tokens applied consistently and documentation kept current • Written design rationale and spec notes for engineering handoff • Design revisions based on feedback, testing, and product data Scope of Work • Translate user needs, business goals, and technical constraints into intuitive, elegant experiences • Design complex workflows that stay simple for non-technical users • Use product and behavioural data to identify friction points and improve activation, engagement, and retention • Synthesize customer research findings into design decisions • Contribute to voice and terminology consistency across product and marketing touchpoints • Maintain design consistency across product and marketing surfaces What We’re Looking For Experience • 3+ years designing SaaS products • A portfolio with end-to-end SaaS case studies showing the problem, what you owned, what shipped, and what you learned • Solid understanding of UX/UI principles, best practices, and product thinking Core craft • Design systems literacy — you’ve worked inside a component-based design system in a real product environment • Native mobile design fluency: iOS (Human Interface Guidelines) and Android (Material 3) conventions, designing mobile-first with platform-appropriate patterns • High attention to detail across layout, typography, and interaction design • Strong copywriting / UX writing instinct — in a mobile-first, glance-able product, the words do a lot of the work Tools and workflows • Advanced Figma proficiency • Fluent with AI-augmented design workflows — using LLMs for research synthesis, copy iteration, spec generation, and rapid concepting Working style • Comfortable giving and receiving thoughtful, constructive design feedback over async channels and video calls • Clear written communication and reliable self-management on deadlines • Comfortable in ambiguous, fast-moving work where you help define the problem, not just the solution Nice-to-Haves • Experience designing for non-desk workers, field software, or trades/logistics/industrial products • Familiarity with brand systems and design system documentation workflows • Basic understanding of front-end development constraints To Apply Share your portfolio and a short note on a SaaS project you owned end-to-end — what the problem was, what you shipped, and what you’d do differently.
