# Motion Design Video Editor | STEM YouTube Channel I'm looking for a Motion Design Video Editor for a long-form YouTube channel focused on science, mathematics, engineering, history, discoveries, inventions, and the ideas that shaped our world. The channel combines visual explanations, storytelling, motion graphics, and educational content to make complex topics easier to understand and more engaging to watch. Videos are typically **15–22 minutes long**. --- ## What I Will Provide For each project, I will provide: * Final script * Voice-over * Custom Manim animations * Visual notes and references where required The mathematical and technical visualizations are already created by me using Manim, so you won't be starting from a blank canvas. --- ## Your Role Your job is to take the provided assets and transform them into a polished, engaging long-form educational video. The focus is not on flashy editing. The focus is on: * Visual storytelling * Clarity * Motion design * Pacing * Viewer engagement --- ## Responsibilities ### Video Editing * Assemble the complete video using the provided assets * Sync visuals with narration * Maintain strong pacing throughout the video * Create smooth transitions between sections * Deliver a cohesive final product --- ### Motion Design You should be comfortable creating: * Clean motion graphics * Concept visualizations * Kinetic typography when needed * Supporting animations around the provided Manim sequences * Visual bridges between topics The goal is to help viewers understand complex ideas, not overwhelm them with effects. --- ### Visual Research & Asset Integration You should be comfortable sourcing and working with: * Historical images * Paintings * Maps * Scientific diagrams * Public-domain resources * Relevant stock footage * Supporting educational visuals --- ### Camera Movement & Presentation Many assets will be static. You should be comfortable adding: * Slow zooms * Camera movement * Subtle parallax effects * Professional compositions * Clean transitions --- ### Sound Design Basic sound design is expected. This includes: * Music integration * Ambient sounds where appropriate * Transition effects * Audio balancing The objective is to support the story and improve immersion without distracting from the narration. --- ## Preferred Skills * Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere Pro / DaVinci Resolve  * Motion Graphics * Educational Content Editing Experience with science, educational, documentary, or explainer-style content is a strong plus. --- ## Editing Style Important: I'm **not** looking for: * Gaming-style edits * Meme edits * Excessive zooms * Random effects * Over-the-top transitions * TikTok/Reels-style editing * Hyperactive retention editing The ideal style is: * Clean * Professional * Story-focused * Easy to follow * Visually engaging The audience should feel like they are learning something fascinating, not being bombarded with effects. --- ## Technical Notes Many Manim animations will be provided with transparent backgrounds.
