Motion Designer (After Effects) — Finish a Fully-Timed 5-Min Product Film, Bento/Editorial Style
Worldwide
OVERVIEW We have a finished, fully-timed animatic for a ~5 minute product film, and we're looking for a motion graphics animator to bring it to polished, final animation. This is not a from-scratch brief. The hard creative work is done: the voiceover is locked, the animatic is timed to the VO, and the visual structure — including the bento layouts — is already defined. Your job is to take that animatic and produce the finished, exported video. SEE THE QUALITY OF WHAT YOU'LL BE WORKING FROM "Animatic" means very different things to different people, so rather than leave it to the word, here is a short excerpt of the actual animatic you'll be receiving — just to illustrate its high quality and level of detail: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uMWrq1Q5WfuBcNX1K1qfbJUwOtpnMm65/view?usp=sharing As you'll see, it's already highly detailed and tightly timed. We're looking for an animator who can take work of this caliber and carry it through to finished animation. THE LOOK — BENTO-HEAVY The visual target is Anthropic's launch video for Claude Design: clean, editorial, modern, and bento-heavy — built around animated multi-tile "bento" layouts where several elements live and move together in a single composition. Our film uses that same bento-driven style throughout, so comfort with multi-tile bento animation is essential. Please watch the reference before bidding; matching that quality bar and the bento sensibility is the core of the job. Reference (PLEASE WATCH THIS): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_LBECIQQqs THE TEST BENTO — all screening questions refer to this. Answers that don't engage with this spec's specific tiles and timings are declined. VO line, 4 seconds: "One engine. A teacher types three words — and every child in the room reads the same story, at their own level." The composition: warm off-white canvas, thin-keyline bento grid, clean editorial style (motion reference: Anthropic's Claude Design film). Tile A (large, left half): a teacher's input field; three words get typed. Tiles B–E (right half, stacked equal): the same article rendering simultaneously at four reading levels — Grade 2, 4, 6, 8. Real paragraph text, visibly different lengths, identical layout. At the end of the VO line the whole bento must collapse into a single full-frame tile for the next scene. There are deliberate tensions in this spec (five tiles vs. four seconds; four paragraphs nobody can read at speed). We're hiring for how you resolve them. WHAT YOU'LL BE WORKING FROM (provided up front) - Locked voiceover audio (final) - The fully-timed animatic (MP4) — pacing, transitions, and flow already established - The bento layout / scene map — which scenes group into which bento compositions - A feature/scene matrix describing what each beat shows We use Frame.io to communicate edits / revisions. WHAT WE NEED IN YOUR PROPOSAL - A fixed price for the finished, exported ~5 min video, revisions included - Your turnaround time - When you could start - 2-3 examples of your most relevant, bento-style work (see the screening questions) Because the animatic, timing, and VO are already locked, this is a well-defined, de-risked engagement — you're animating to an approved blueprint, not designing the film from zero. We're ready to move quickly with the right person.
