Motion Designer / VFX Artist — Animated Projection Decoration Scenes (Halloween & Christmas Launch) About the Project We are launching a digital decoration brand selling downloadable animated video scenes that customers project onto windows, walls, TVs, and props using home projectors — think ghostly apparitions drifting past a window, singing pumpkins, dinosaurs stomping through fog, or gentle snowfall over a fireplace scene. The product is a pure digital download. Every file must be original content created for this brand — production quality is the product. You will be the creative engine behind our hero content: the flagship character-driven scenes that anchor each seasonal collection. What You'll Create Hero scenes (your core focus): 4 flagship character performances per season. Examples of the type of content (to be designed originally by you with us): A ghost character that appears, interacts, and vanishes in a window — 1–3 minute choreographed sequence Singing/talking jack-o'-lanterns with synchronized mouth animation set to an original or licensed track A Santa or winter character scene for the Christmas collection Creature/monster silhouette sequences designed for window projection Polish and finishing work (secondary): Cleanup, loop-stitching, color grading, and compositing of AI-generated atmospheric footage (fog, snow, lightning, floating spirits) produced in-house. You make good raw material seamless and projection-ready. Technical Requirements is essential (Non-Negotiable) Seamless loops. Every scene must loop with zero visible seam. A visible loop point is a rejected deliverable. Black backgrounds. All content is designed for projection: pure black (#000000) backgrounds so only the subject appears when projected. You understand why crushed blacks and low-luminance haze ruin the projection illusion. Projection-optimized grading. High subject brightness/contrast tuned for consumer projectors (often 3,000–4,000 lumens in ambient light), not for monitors. Delivery specs: 1080p and 4K masters, H.264 (consumer delivery) plus ProRes or DNxHR master files, 30fps, embedded audio where the scene calls for it, plus a silent version of every file. Multiple orientations where relevant: landscape (walls/TVs), portrait (windows/door props). Start: Immediate — Halloween catalog must be complete first less than a week : Christmas catalog follows immediately, then year-round seasonal expansions (Diwali, Eid, Lunar New Year, birthdays, weddings, gender reveals). Required Skills Expert in After Effects and/or Blender (Cinema 4D or Houdini also welcome) Character animation and rigging for the hero pieces — this is the skill we cannot do without Compositing and rotoscoping Sound-sync animation (lip-sync or music-timed movement) A portfolio showing looping motion work, character animation, or VFX shots Bonus Skills (Not Required, but Prioritized) Experience with AI video tools (Runway, Kling, Veo, or similar) and comfort using them as a starting layer to accelerate output Projection mapping experience (MadMapper, Resolume, HeavyM) Horror/fantasy/whimsical stylistic range — the same person animating a terrifying wraith in September will animate a cozy Santa in October Familiarity with multicultural celebration aesthetics (Diwali diyas and rangoli motion graphics, Eid crescent and lantern scenes, Lunar New Year dragons and lanterns) — these collections are on the 2026–2027 roadmap and have almost no competition What We Provide Complete creative briefs per scene: storyboard direction, timing map, reference moodboards Fast feedback cycles — we review within 24 hours Deliverables & Workload (First Engagement) 4/5 hero scenes for the Halloween collection (1–3 minutes each), delivered by Aug 1st but prefably asap. Polish/loop-finishing passes on approximately 15–25 shorter atmospheric clips Immediate follow-on: the Christmas collection on the same structure Legal & IP Terms Work-for-hire.
