Motion Graphics Designer/Editor (Remote) — 40+ hrs/week (Freelance)
Worldwide
Job Summary We’re looking for a fully dedicated, highly organized hybrid Motion Graphics Designer/Editor to create and iterate high-performing direct response (DR) creative across Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and other paid social/video placements. This role is not motion-only—you’ll work across stills, motion, video editing, and AI-assisted production in a highly collaborative, fast-turn environment. You’ll partner closely with our creative team to build, version, and optimize assets for rapid testing—moving from concept to iterations to final deliverables quickly and cleanly. What You’ll Do · Conceptualize, design, and execute motion + video ads, and supporting static assets as needed for performance testing. · Build direct response-first motion systems: kinetic typography, punchy transitions, UI-style overlays, callouts, infographics, and performance-driven effects. · Re-cut existing footage, adapt animated graphics, and create net-new variations for A/B testing and rapid iteration. · Develop moodboards, styleframes, and storyboards to align internally and with clients before production. · Leverage stock footage/imagery, SFX, and AI-assisted tools (e.g., image generation/editing, VO/asset support) to move quickly—especially for brands with limited existing content. · Maintain exceptional project hygiene: naming conventions, layer structure, and organized project files that enable fast handoffs and easy revisions. · Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing quality, timelines, and stakeholder expectations in a fast-paced environment. · Stay on top of platform trends (paid + organic) and translate them into ad-ready creative patterns. · Deliver across required formats/aspect ratios (9:16, 1:1, 16:9, etc.) and placements with strong attention to specs. Must-Have Skills & Experience (What We’re Really Screening For) We’re looking for an organized, collaborative hybrid designer who can execute cleanly at scale and thrive in a fast-turn environment. · Strong design eye + direct response sensibility (clarity, hierarchy, pacing, hooks, CTAs). · Comfortable producing stills + motion + video edits (not motion-only). · Excellent file organization / project hygiene (naming conventions, clean layers, structured comps/timelines) — non-negotiable. · Ability to follow team systems and processes (templates, shared files, handoffs). · Experience working at high pace (agency experience is a strong plus). · Flexibility and adaptability for integrating new tools, especially AI-assisted workflows. Tools + Workflow · Expert in Adobe Creative Cloud, especially After Effects + Premiere (Photoshop/Illustrator required; Audition a bonus). · Figma proficiency strongly preferred (team is Figma-heavy; shared templates and fast iteration). · Comfortable collaborating via Google/Microsoft/Slack productivity tools. · Familiarity with AI-assisted workflows for production speed (image generation/editing, VO/asset support, generative extensions). Note: Tool usage varies by project, but the workflow is often After Effects–heavy with Premiere used when editing is the best tool for the job. Nice-to-Haves (Not Required) · 3D capability is a plus, not a requirement (rarely needed; never a dealbreaker). · Color correction, audio post, VFX/compositing, character animation, hand-drawn animation. What Success Looks Like in This Role · You can jump into a shared workflow and ship quickly without sacrificing craft. · Your files are so organized that another designer can pick up your project mid-stream and iterate immediately. · You bring strong design fundamentals that improve both statics and motion systems—and you can use AI tools to accelerate, not replace, good taste. Portfolio Submission (Recommended) Please include: · 2–4 examples of paid social / direct response ads (motion + statics if possible). · One example showing versioning/iterations. · One example demonstrating file organization (screenshots of AE project panel / layer structure acceptable).
