Motion Graphics Editor — Animated Social Promo Videos for Theatrical Musical (Ongoing)

We're a Toronto-based theatrical production company launching Our Little Secret: A True New Musical, with confirmed runs at Citadel Theatre (Edmonton) and CAA Theatre (Toronto) this fall. We need a motion graphics editor to turn our existing PSD show art into short, punchy animated promo videos for Instagram and TikTok. Immediate deliverable: take our provided PSD graphic and animate it into a short video (vertical 9:16, 5-10 seconds) with an animated typewriter-text effect revealing the word "TOMORROW," building anticipation for a countdown or announcement post. We want it clean and professional, on-brand with the existing design — animate what's there rather than redesigning it. If it's a good fit, there's ongoing scope for regular animated promo assets through our fall run, including countdown graphics, quote cards, cast announcement videos, and ticket on-sale hype videos, mixing typewriter/kinetic text animation with simple PSD-to-video treatments. We're looking for someone with a strong portfolio of animated text or kinetic typography work, proficiency in After Effects or an equivalent tool, comfort working from layered PSD or design files, and the ability to turn things around quickly since some assets are tied to specific announcement or on-sale dates. Experience with theatrical, entertainment, or event marketing content is a bonus, as is sound design sense (a synced typewriter clack per letter is what really sells the effect).
