Multilingual Audio Recording Project (French, Spanish & Italian)

We are seeking native speakers of French, Spanish, and Italian to participate in a speech data collection project. The goal is to collect high-quality recordings across different real-world acoustic conditions. Languages French (Standard/Southern) Spanish (Castilian/Latin American) Italian (Standard) Task Overview Each participant will record 1,620 provided sentences. Quality Check Process Start by recording the first 50 sentences. The quality team will review these recordings. Once approved, you may continue with the remaining 1,570 sentences. Failure to follow the recording specifications may result in rejection and require re-recording. Recording Equipment You may use: Smartphone Tablet Laptop/Desktop Computer IP-based recording device Important: If using a smartphone or tablet, the device must not be held in your hand during recording. It should be placed on a stable surface or stand and remain fixed throughout the recording session. Distance & Angle Requirements Each participant will be assigned one specific recording distance and one specific recording angle. Possible Distances 3 meters 5 meters Important Rules Once assigned, your distance and angle must remain unchanged for the entire recording session. For example, if you are assigned Front + 3 meters, the recording device must remain positioned directly in front of you at a distance of 3 meters for all recordings. Do not move closer to or farther from the device during recording. Do not change the device position, angle, or orientation once recording begins. The device should remain stationary on a table, tripod, shelf, stand, or other stable surface. Recording Environments Recordings should include a variety of natural acoustic environments. Examples include: Home Office Kitchen Public outdoor areas Areas with common environmental sounds Audio Specifications Format: WAV Sample Rate: 24 kHz Channels: Mono Bit Depth: 16-bit Participant Requirements Native speaker of the target language Currently residing in the corresponding language region Age 18+ Able to follow recording instructions accurately Able to complete the full recording task after approval How to Apply Please provide: Native language Country/Region Device you will use for recording Previous audio/data collection experience (if any) Only participants who successfully pass the 50-sentence quality review will be invited to complete the remaining recordings.
