.NET/C# Developer for Windows Desktop Bridge App (Philippines), Medical Device Integration
Worldwide
We are an optical/optometry technology company building a Windows bridge application deployed on practice computers that connects in-practice measurement devices to our cloud platform. The cloud and API side is handled by our in-house team. This role owns the desktop application and the device adapter layer. WHAT YOU WILL BUILD A .NET Windows desktop application and background service, designed to run unattended in non-technical environments Device adapters consuming REST and XML interfaces from optical measurement hardware, behind a common internal contract so new devices can be added without touching the core A durable offline store-and-forward queue with automatic retry, surviving restarts and extended connectivity loss, including token expiry recovery without manual intervention An operator-facing workflow for pairing captured measurements to the correct patient record before upload, plus a dashboard with per-device activity logs and test-run functions Secure credential exchange (one-time claim code to scoped credentials) and token lifecycle management Packaging, deployment and auto-update suitable for rollout across many sites MUST HAVE Strong commercial .NET and C#, with genuine Windows desktop (WPF or WinForms) and Windows service experience, not just ASP.NET web Offline-first and sync patterns: local persistence (SQLite or similar), durable queueing, retry and recovery logic Integration against third-party REST and XML interfaces, including imperfectly documented ones Secure credential handling and token-based authentication Ability to work independently from a written scope with defined requirements Philippines-based preferred, with working hours overlapping Sydney business hours VALUED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL Medical, laboratory, optical or imaging device integration background MSI or auto-update deployment experience for unattended sites Familiarity with AWS-hosted APIs as a consumer ENGAGEMENT Fixed-scope initial build covering the core application and the first device adapter, with follow-on adapters and ongoing support work for the right person. The full scope document is shared under NDA with shortlisted candidates. Full IP assignment and source handover applies to all deliverables. Shortlisted candidates will be offered a small paid test task before contracting. TO APPLY Please answer the screening questions specifically. Generic applications will not be shortlisted.
