Dispatcher

Job Summary The NEMT Dispatcher coordinates and schedules transportation services for patients traveling to and from medical appointments, dialysis, rehabilitation, hospital discharges, and other healthcare-related destinations. The dispatcher communicates with drivers, healthcare facilities, brokers, and patients to ensure safe, timely, and efficient transportation services while maintaining compliance with company policies and healthcare transportation regulations. Key Responsibilities Schedule and dispatch drivers for daily trip assignments Monitor routes and adjust schedules based on delays, cancellations, or emergencies Coordinate with patients, medical facilities, insurance brokers, and case managers Verify trip details, pickup/drop-off times, and eligibility information Maintain accurate trip records, driver logs, and dispatch reports Track vehicles using GPS and dispatch software Handle incoming calls professionally and resolve customer concerns Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Medicaid, and transportation regulations Communicate trip updates and route changes to drivers in real time Support billing and claims documentation by ensuring trip accuracy Monitor driver attendance, performance, and trip completion status Assist with after-hours or weekend dispatch coverage when required Preferred Qualifications Experience in NEMT, medical transportation, healthcare, or Medicaid transportation Familiarity with broker portals and trip management systems Bilingual skills are a plus
