# Project Manager for a Technical Team (AI-native) We need a Project Manager who can run delivery for a development team: turn client needs into clear work, keep developers moving, check that what ships is actually correct, and make sure the result solves the client's real problem. This is a traditional Project Management role on an AI-native team. You will use tools like Claude and Codex to work faster, but your job is managing projects and ensuring delivery quality, not building. **Engagement:** ongoing hourly contract through Upwork, long-term, remote. ## What you will do **Understand what the client needs.** Listen carefully in meetings, pull out the real requirements, ask the follow-up questions nobody asked, and separate the client's actual objective from loosely expressed requests. **Turn discussions into clear work.** Convert meetings, messages, and requirements into well-structured developer tickets. Every ticket carries enough context, a clear objective, acceptance criteria, dependencies, priority, and any open questions. **Manage developers and delivery.** Coordinate developers across several projects. Track progress, clear blockers, hold priorities, follow up on commitments, and drive work from discussion to done. **Review what gets delivered.** A closed ticket is not proof of anything. Compare the result against the original requirement, run the relevant user flow yourself, find the missing details and edge cases, and send incomplete work back with specific feedback. **Keep the objective in view.** The team should be shipping something useful and reliable, not just closing tickets. Hold the client's business goal visible through the whole project. **Run several workstreams at once.** Maintain priorities, dependencies, decisions, risks, blockers, and next actions across multiple fast-moving projects without dropping threads. **Communicate clearly.** Short progress updates, documented decisions, risks raised early, and unambiguous ownership of next steps. ## Working with AI **Use it to move faster.** Drafting tickets, summarizing meetings, preparing status updates, organizing project information, comparing requirements against delivered work, and repetitive operational tasks. **Review its output critically.** Spot hallucinations, unsupported assumptions, missing context, and conclusions that look right and are not. Verify anything important against source material, tests, and evidence. **Know when to skip it.** Some work needs direct human judgment, involves sensitive information, is not defined well enough yet, or is simply faster to do by hand. ## What we are looking for - Several years of Project Management experience in a fast-moving environment - Experience managing developers and coordinating software or product projects - A track record of taking ambiguous client requirements from first conversation through delivery - Strong judgment when assessing whether finished work meets the original requirement - An AI-native working style. Claude, Codex, or comparable tools are already part of how you work - Demonstrated ability to review AI-generated work and catch hallucinations or unsupported conclusions - Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through - Technical enough to talk to developers, test delivered functionality, and judge whether acceptance criteria are met - Ability to manage detailed execution without losing the client's broader objective - Professional English for day-to-day communication ## German requirement German reading and writing proficiency at B2 or higher is a hard minimum. C1 or higher is strongly preferred.
