The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, security, and ongoing management of the organization's enterprise network infrastructure. Reporting to IT leadership, this role provides both strategic direction and hands-on technical leadership to ensure the network remains secure, reliable, scalable, and highly available. The successful candidate will lead a team of network engineers, oversee network architecture, support critical infrastructure projects, and ensure that networking technologies align with business objectives and security requirements. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure. Configure and support routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, wireless networks, and related technologies. Monitor network performance and proactively resolve issues affecting availability or performance. Develop and implement network security controls, including firewalls, segmentation, secure remote access, DNS protection, and network access control. Lead network modernization and infrastructure improvement projects. Troubleshoot complex networking issues and provide technical leadership during major incidents. Ensure network configurations comply with organizational security standards and regulatory requirements. Create and maintain network diagrams, standards, documentation, and operational procedures. Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to the network environment. Technical Skills Advanced knowledge of enterprise networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, Routing, Switching, BGP, OSPF, MPLS) Extensive experience with Cisco networking technologies Experience managing enterprise firewalls Strong understanding of network security principles Experience with VPN technologies Wireless networking design and support Network monitoring and performance management DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management Network redundancy and high availability Cloud networking fundamentals (Azure and/or AWS) Disaster recovery and business continuity planning
