Network Router & Mesh System Testing / QA EngineerNetwork Router & Mesh System Testing / QA Engineer Project Description: We are looking for an experienced Network QA Engineer to perform comprehensive testing and validation of networking equipment before deployment. The project includes testing a router and mesh Wi-Fi system to ensure stability, performance, security, and reliability in a real-world ISP environment. Scope of Work: 1. Connectivity Testing WAN and LAN connectivity validation. DHCP functionality testing. Static IP configuration testing. VLAN configuration verification. IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity tests. DNS resolution and failover testing. PPPoE connectivity testing (if applicable). 2. Wi-Fi & Mesh Performance Testing Mesh pairing and synchronization. Roaming between mesh nodes. Signal strength and coverage measurements. Throughput testing (2.4GHz and 5GHz). Stability under multiple connected devices. Band steering validation. Mesh recovery after node disconnection. 3. Security Assessment Verification of firewall functionality. WPA2/WPA3 security validation. Guest network isolation testing. Basic penetration testing. Vulnerability assessment. Open ports and service exposure review. Firmware security review. 4. Interface & User Experience Testing Web management interface review. Mobile application testing (if available). Configuration backup and restore testing. Factory reset procedures. Firmware upgrade and downgrade testing. User experience and usability evaluation. 5. Stress & Reliability Testing Continuous uptime testing (24–72 hours). Multiple simultaneous device connections. High bandwidth load testing. Reboot recovery testing. Power outage recovery testing. Long-term stability assessment. 6. Advanced Network Features VPN functionality testing. QoS validation. Port forwarding verification. Dynamic DNS testing. Parental control testing. Traffic monitoring functionality. Deliverables The engineer should provide: Detailed Test Plan. Test Results Report. Identified Bugs and Issues List. Security Findings Report. Performance Benchmark Results. Recommendations for Improvements. Final Quality Assessment (Pass / Fail). Required Experience Network Engineering. Router and Wi-Fi Mesh systems. TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs. Network Security Testing. Performance Benchmarking. Experience with ISP or Enterprise networking equipment is preferred. Equipment The hardware will be provided by us. The selected freelancer will be responsible for conducting all tests and providing detailed documentation and recommendations. Goal: Ensure the router and mesh system are production-ready, secure, stable, and capable of supporting ISP-grade customer deployments.
