New media art - Projection art

We are seeking a New Media Artist to collaborate on the creation of the visual environment for Exhibit A, an immersive contemporary dance performance exploring themes of behavioral conditioning, perception, identity formation, and observation. The performance takes place inside a 360° installation (around 45 minutes long), where two performers inhabit a semi-transparent room formed by four projection panels. The audience surrounds this structure from all sides, observing what initially appears to be a laboratory experiment unfolding in real time. The projected media is not intended as scenography or narrative illustration. Instead, it should function as a living psychological environment—an extension of the performers' internal world. The visuals should gradually blur the boundaries between laboratory and subconscious, between observation and participation, creating a dreamlike yet unsettling atmosphere. We are interested in artists whose work explores abstraction, perception, generative systems, digital environments, procedural aesthetics, experimental animation, or immersive visual storytelling. The visual language should evoke a space that feels simultaneously clinical and impossible, familiar yet constantly shifting, as though the architecture itself were responding to an invisible cognitive process. Projection mapping across the four panels should transform the installation into an evolving environment that guides the audience through a subtle perceptual journey. Rather than illustrating the action, the visuals should deepen the emotional and conceptual experience, allowing viewers to question whether they are observing the experiment—or inhabiting it. We encourage proposals that approach projection as an active dramaturgical element capable of reshaping space, perception, and meaning.
