Sr. Next.js Design System Engineer — Agent-assisted Web App Build

Background: We are building a polished customer web app for a barber booking and payments product. The iOS app is moving fast, and we need the web side to catch up without creating a messy front-end that breaks under speed. This is not a normal pixel-pushing role. We need someone who can design the web engineering system so AI coding agents can build UI quickly while a senior human keeps the design system, data boundaries, and review bar excellent. Current stack: Next.js App Router, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Storybook and Chromatic, TanStack Query, generated API SDK, Figma, Claude Code, and Codex. AI-assisted development is required: You'll need to be highly fluent with Claude Code and Codex for real web app development. This means you have used coding agents to build, refactor, review, test, and ship production React or Next.js work. We are not looking for someone who blindly accepts agent output. We need someone who knows how to write good prompts, split work into safe slices, review diffs, catch bad architecture, and turn agent speed into clean production code. Strong fit: - You have owned a production React or Next.js design system. - You can show Storybook or similar component proof. - You are highly fluent with Claude Code, Codex, or both, and are willing to use both in our workflow.
