Summary

Overview We are a studio in active production on a 3D precision platformer for Nintendo Switch, built in Unity with the Universal Render Pipeline. The game has a complete, locked GDD, Art Specs, and a milestone plan. Development is being handled in-house. We are looking for a developer or small team with verified access to a Nintendo Switch Developer Kit to collaborate with us on hardware-level QA, performance validation, and platform certification. This is a specific, defined role, not a full-dev outsourcing engagement. What We're Building Is a fast-paced, retry-based 3D precision platformer inspired by titles like Celeste and Super Meat Boy which is designed natively for Nintendo Switch. 30 levels across 4 distinct worlds + a final gauntlet 5 boss encounters, each with multi-phase arena designs 6 playable characters (shared rig, cosmetic differentiation) Full custom art, VFX, animation, and audio pipeline Target performance: stable 30 FPS on Switch hardware The game is in active development with a structured 6-month delivery timeline already underway. What We Need From You Your role is focused and clearly scoped: Nintendo Switch DevKit Access: You must own or have direct, verified access to an official Nintendo Switch Developer Kit. This is a hard requirement. We will ask for confirmation before engaging. Hardware QA Testing: Running our builds on actual Switch hardware at key milestones, identifying platform-specific issues (memory, thermal performance, input, display, controller mapping) that cannot be caught on PC. Nintendo TRC / Lotcheck Support: Familiarity with Nintendo's Technical Requirements Checklist and the Lotcheck certification submission process. Ideally you've shipped at least one title through Nintendo's certification pipeline. Collaborative QA Cycles: Working closely with our internal team across 5–6 QA milestone checkpoints throughout the project. You report findings; we resolve them. Clean and simple. Final Submission Support: Assisting with the final Gold Master build preparation and Nintendo submission process. What This Role Is NOT This is not a full game development contract, we are not looking for someone to build the game This is not a general QA role: we need console-specific hardware testing, not manual PC/mobile testing Ideal Candidate Has shipped at least one game on Nintendo Switch. Owns or has direct access to a Nintendo Switch DevKit (HDEV or equivalent) Has working knowledge of Unity URP builds for Switch, including performance profiling tools Understands Nintendo's TRC requirements and submission process Communicates clearly in English and can provide structured QA reports Engagement Structure: Collaboration is milestone-based, aligned to our 6-month development timeline. QA touchpoints are planned at the end of each major phase. Payment will be agreed per milestone, not hourly. We have a clear scope and expect a similarly clear proposal from you. To Apply Please answer the following in your proposal applications that do not address these will not be reviewed: 1. Do you own or have direct access to a Nintendo Switch DevKit? If yes, what type (HDEV, EDEV, etc.)? 2. Have you shipped a game through Nintendo? If yes, share the title or provide verifiable context. 3. What is your Unity/Switch experience? Briefly describe one relevant project. We are reviewing a select number of proposals and will move quickly with the right candidate.
