Join our team to support nonprofit operations and community development. Focus on researching grant opportunities, including foundation grants and corporate sponsorships, to enhance our impact. Collaborate with community leaders and organizations to build partnerships and drive positive change. This role requires strong communication skills and a passion for community development. What You'll Do Grants & Opportunities (core focus, ~50% of the role) Research grant opportunities: foundation grants, corporate giving programs, local/state funding, and community grants that match our mission and eligibility Maintain a grant tracker: funder, deadline, award range, eligibility notes, requirements, status, and next action for every opportunity Monitor recurring sources (Grants.gov, foundation newsletters, community foundation calendars, Instrumentl-style databases) and flag new matches weekly Track deadlines and send reminders well ahead of due dates — nothing slips Gather and organize application requirements (attachments, budgets, letters needed) so we're never scrambling at deadline Keep records of submitted applications, outcomes, and reporting deadlines for awarded grants General Operations (~50%) Community and donor admin: contact lists, donation and volunteer sign-up logging Newsletter and communications support: formatting, scheduling, light copy editing Document formatting and proofreading (Google Docs, Word, Canva) Inbox and calendar support Event admin: RSVP tracking, reminder emails, sign-up forms Must-Haves 2+ years of VA or admin experience, with at least one nonprofit, NGO, church, foundation, or community organization client (please describe this in your application) Hands-on grant research or grant tracking experience — you've built or maintained a grant pipeline, calendar, or tracker before, even a simple one Excellent written English with a warm, human tone Strong spreadsheet skills (Google Sheets or Excel) — the grant tracker will live and die by your organization Experience with Google Workspace Reliable internet, quiet workspace, own computer Self-managing: you track your own deadlines and flag risks before they become problems Nice-to-Haves Grant writing or LOI drafting support experience Familiarity with Grants.gov, Instrumentl, GrantStation, Candid/Foundation Directory, or similar Donor database experience (Bloomerang, Little Green Light, Givebutter, or similar) Canva and email tools (Mailchimp or similar) What We Offer Stable, long-term role with consistent monthly work Mission-driven work you can feel good about Direct communication with one manager — no micromanagement 13th month pay after your first full year Room to grow into more hours as the organization grows
