OBIEE to Tableau Migration Expert (Databricks + Semantic Layer Automation + Bulk Report Conversion)

This is not a simple report rebuild. We are specifically looking for someone who can design and implement a scalable, semi-automated migration strategy, including: 1. RPD Semantic Layer Rebuild (Critical) • Analyze OBIEE RPD (Physical, BMM, Presentation layers) • Recreate semantic logic in Databricks using: • Views / Materialized Views • Business logic standardization • Map: • Facts & dimensions • Joins & grain • Calculated metrics • Hierarchies 2. OBIEE Report Metadata Extraction • Parse OBIEE Analysis XMLs & Catalog metadata • Extract: • Columns & calculations • Filters & prompts • Layout structure (tables, pivots, charts) • Build a metadata-driven inventory 3. Mass Report Migration to Tableau • Develop strategy to rebuild thousands of reports efficiently • Use Tableau capabilities like: • Published Data Sources • Reusable templates • Parameterized dashboards • Calculated fields mapping • Minimize manual effort per report 4. Automation & Acceleration Framework (Highly Preferred) We are specifically looking for candidates who can: • Build automation pipelines to: • Convert OBIEE metadata → Tableau-ready structures • Generate reusable Tableau workbook templates • Explore approaches like: • Metadata-driven report generation • Script-based Tableau workbook creation (XML/TWB/TWBX manipulation) • Python-based automation for report scaffolding 5. Scalability & Governance • Handle migration of 5,000+ reports • Maintain consistency across subject areas • Align with enterprise standards: • Naming conventions • Reusable KPI definitions • Performance optimization
