Offshore Finance Officer

ROLE PURPOSE To provide accurate, efficient, and reliable financial and accounting support to the onshore finance team from an offshore location. This role is responsible for day-to-day transaction processing, reconciliations, and supporting month-end closing procedures to ensure compliance and financial accuracy across operations. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Perform daily processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoice matching, data entry, and billing. - Reconcile daily bank statements, corporate credit cards, and balance sheet accounts. - Assist in preparing monthly financial reports, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations. - Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accurate coding of all income and expenses. - Monitor outstanding debtor accounts and perform routine credit control and payment follow-ups. - Assist with payroll processing support and expense report reviews as required. - Ensure all task documentation and financial records comply with company policies and relevant standards. KEY RELATIONSHIPS - Internal: Offshore Finance Manager, Onshore Finance Manager, Onshore Senior Accountants, Onshore Payroll Team, Onshore Operations Staff, Onshore sales team, Onshore Customer Service team. - External: Suppliers, Vendors, Clients (for basic payment/billing inquiries). YOU MUST HAVE (EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE) - Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPAP, or CPA or ACCA - Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in a dedicated accounting or finance officer role. - Prior experience working in an offshore, remote, or outsourced capacity is preferred. KEY SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES - Proficiency in major cloud accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB, SAP, Oracle Financials, Salesforce) and ERP systems. - Strong working knowledge of Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel (vlookups, pivot tables) and office productivity tools. - High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and analytical problem-solving skills. - Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. - Strong time-management capabilities with the ability to work independently to tight deadlines. This role is remote and will be performed 09:00-17:00 AEST Monday - Friday Also note the role will be paid $8-9 AUD p/h (Based on experience and at the discretion of the hiring manager) due to being and Australian based business.
