Ongoing Shopify Developer – Store Maintenance, Custom Apps & Integrations (Retainer/As-Needed)

We are an established e-commerce brand looking for a reliable, long-term Shopify Developer / Contractor to handle ongoing maintenance, updates, and custom improvements for our store. This is not a one-time setup. We need a go-to technical partner for recurring monthly tasks, application customization, and performance optimization as our product line and marketing campaigns scale. Scope of Work Includes: Theme Customization & UI Updates: Implementing layout changes, updating landing pages, and tweaking Liquid/CSS to match design requirements. App Customization & Integration: Setting up, configuring, and troubleshooting third-party Shopify apps (subscriptions, loyalty, upsells, etc.) and ensuring they don't break existing site functionality. API & Backend Connections: Managing data integrations between Shopify and external systems (such as ERPs, fulfillment platforms, or email marketing tools). Site Optimization: Monitoring and improving mobile responsiveness, page speed metrics, and core checkout stability. General Troubleshooting: Quickly diagnosing and fixing bugs, broken links, or display issues as they arise. Required Qualifications: Expert-level Shopify experience with deep knowledge of Shopify Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and Ruby. Proven experience creating custom functionality and modifying existing Shopify themes (without relying solely on basic app patches). Strong understanding of web performance optimization and e-commerce UI/UX best practices. Excellent communication skills, reliable availability, and a strict adherence to deadlines. Experience working with version control (GitHub/Gitlab) is a major plus. Project Type & Availability: Ongoing / Long-Term: Work will be assigned on an as-needed, project-by-project basis, but we are looking to establish a long-term partnership or monthly retainer for the right candidate. Hours: Flexible, typically 5–15 hours per week depending on active initiatives.
