Ongoing Structural Submittal Drawings & Calculations for Steel & Fabric Shade Structures / Canopies

Scope of Work The selected freelancer will prepare project-specific structural submittal packages based on provided information, which may include: Site plans Architectural drawings Customer sketches Standard product details Previous project examples Engineering direction Manufacturer/product requirements Local AHJ requirements Typical structures include: Steel shade shelters Hip roof canopies Cantilever shade structures Fabric shade structures Shade sails Custom steel shelters and canopies Required Deliverables Deliverables may include: Structural submittal drawings Plan views, elevations, sections, and details Column/post layout drawings Footing layout drawings Framing layout drawings Connection details Anchor/base plate layouts where applicable Material callouts and general notes PDF drawing packages Native CAD/SolidWorks/Revit files, if applicable Revisions based on engineer comments, customer comments, or AHJ review comments For calculation support, deliverables may include: Structural calculation packages Wind/seismic loading calculations Steel member design HSS member checks Base plate and anchor bolt design Footing calculations Connection calculations Calculation packages suitable for licensed engineer review and stamping Final engineering stamp is not necessarily required from the freelancer, but please specify whether you or your firm can provide stamped calculations/drawings and in which states. Requirements The ideal candidate should have experience with: Structural drafting and submittal drawings Steel shade structures, canopies, shelters, or similar light-frame structures HSS steel members Base plates, anchor bolts, embedded posts, and pier footings Structural calculations for wind and seismic loading Permit/AHJ submittal packages Engineer review and comment responses U.S. building codes, including IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI, and related standards Experience with DSA, school projects, public works, or California submittals is a plus. Software Please identify which software you use, including any of the following: Dlubal RFEM 6 - PREFERRED! AutoCAD SolidWorks Revit RISA Enercalc Mathcad Tekla RAM Excel calculation templates Other structural/drafting software Workload We currently have approximately 7–10 projects per week and are looking for someone who can handle consistent recurring work. We are open to working with an individual freelancer or a small engineering/drafting firm.
