Operations Manager / Business Operator for Newsletter

We are seeking a highly organised, proactive, and dependable Operations Manager / Business Operator to become the backbone of a fast-growing local newsletter business. We currently operate multiple local newsletters with weekly publication schedules and are continually expanding into new areas. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building systems, managing people, improving processes, and helping businesses scale efficiently. This is not an assistant position. We are looking for someone who can genuinely operate the business day-to-day, ensure weekly publications go out smoothly, manage the team, support growth initiatives, and allow the founder to focus primarily on expansion. Responsibilities * Oversee day-to-day business operations * Ensure all newsletters are delivered accurately and on schedule each week * Manage and hold remote team members accountable for deliverables and deadlines * Coordinate writers, designers, social media staff, sales staff, and contractors * Maintain quality control across all newsletters and business activities * Build, document, and improve SOPs and internal systems * Track KPIs, deadlines, and team performance * Identify operational bottlenecks and proactively implement solutions * Source, interview, onboard, and train new team members as the business expands * Develop scalable systems that allow the business to launch additional newsletters efficiently * Act as the founder’s right-hand operator, ensuring the business runs smoothly while the founder focuses on growth, partnerships, and opening new markets Requirements * Proven experience in Operations Management, Project Management, or a similar leadership role * Must be available and responsive during Australian business hours (AEST/AEDT) * Experience managing remote teams * Excellent organisational and communication skills * Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment where priorities can shift quickly * Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently * Experience recruiting, onboarding, and training team members is highly desirable * Ability to take ownership and ensure things get done without constant oversight Preferred Tools * ClickUp * Asana * Monday.com * Notion * Slack * Google Workspace * Loom To Apply Please answer the following: 1.
