Operations & Product Manager — Payments & Subscription Infrastructure Remote — Full-Time / Long-Term Freelance We are looking for a highly execution-oriented Product & Operations profile with strong exposure to payments, recurring billing and multi-PSP environments. This is not a traditional Product Manager role. The position sits at the intersection of: Product Management Payment Operations Subscription Billing PSP Integrations Fraud & Chargeback Operations Payment Performance Optimization The environment is fast-moving, operational and startup-oriented, with strong ownership and constant iteration. The Role This role combines: ~50% Product Management ~50% Payment Operations You will work closely with founders, engineering and payment partners to improve payment performance, optimize operational workflows and drive product execution. We are specifically looking for someone who understands subscription-payment ecosystems in practice: recurring billing failed payment recovery payment routing retries/dunning PSP operations fraud & chargeback pressure payment KPIs Responsibilities Product Management Own and prioritize the product roadmap Translate business and operational challenges into clear product specifications Work closely with engineering teams on execution and delivery Improve merchant/payment user flows Drive operational improvements through automation and AI-first workflows Analyze KPIs and payment performance metrics Coordinate cross-functional execution between Product, Ops and Engineering Payment Operations Monitor and optimize: authorization rates fraud rates chargeback rates payment recovery performance Manage PSP integrations and operational relationships Handle payment incidents and escalation workflows Work on: recurring billing retries & dunning payment recovery routing/orchestration fraud workflows chargeback operations Coordinate with PSPs, acquirers and fraud/dispute partners What We’re Looking For We want a highly hands-on operator, not a purely strategic PM. Ideal candidates already worked on: subscription payments recurring billing systems payment operations multi-PSP environments payment optimization fraud/chargeback-heavy environments payment infrastructure or fintech products Preferred Experience Strong experience with topics such as: payment orchestration PSP routing retries/recovery flows payment performance optimization fraud & disputes chargebacks recurring billing merchant-side payment operations Experience with PSPs such as: Stripe Adyen Checkout.com NMI Trust Payments Nuvei or similar providers is highly valuable.
