Original Mambo Track for Film
Worldwide
Looking for a music composer to create an original mambo track for a Columbia University MFA thesis film, Salt the Fields, written and directed by commercial director Zoé Salicrup Junco. The original song will be the backing instrumental of a 1-minute montage, requiring an upbeat tempo, Caribbean musical style, and retro 1950's flare, reminiscent of Pérez Prado's Mambo No. 5. Aiming to lock music by mid-July 2026. Salt the Fields tells the story of two inseparable best friends in 1950s Puerto Rico who participate in the contraceptive pill program, and must navigate the challenges that come with the choices they make for freedom. Based on real (and illegal) events, this film has social and historical significance, and will be circuiting film festivals in the upcoming year - but only with your help!
