Summary

We are looking for freelance help to support small company tech systems and users. The kind of work we do and need help with: * Desktop and user support * Most customer support is handled through chat and ticketing, but applicants should also be comfortable providing phone support. We provide the VOIP system. * Workstation configuration and maintenance * Windows Server administration, configuration, and maintenance * 90% Windows-based at both server and workstation levels; remaining Mac desktop/laptops * Backup and disaster recovery support * Firewall administration (primarily OPNsense) * Email system support: Hosted Exchange, Office 365, Google Workspace * We are US Eastern Time (EST/EDT) * Most of our customers are regular work hours Monday-Friday. We support then as well as some after hours and weekend for maintenance and projects. We provide all systems for remote connectivity and secure access to customer networks, as well as through our various service providers. Compensation: After training, compensation is $200/month, which covers up to 10 hours of work. Any approved work beyond 10 hours is paid at $15/hour. Contractors typically work 25–30 hours per month, although workload may vary depending on customer needs. Training is paid at a separate rate, which we'll discuss during the initial interview. All payments are made through Upwork. ** About our firm We specialize in supporting small businesses with 1–20 employees. Our clients view technology as a competitive advantage and rely on us to design, maintain, and improve their IT environments. We use standardized processes and enterprise-grade tools for security, backup, remote monitoring, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, VoIP, and managed infrastructure.
