Overnight Podcast Editor (Video) — 2x/Week Long-Term — Hard Morning Deadline
Worldwide
Description: I host a professional interview show and need an on-demand editor who treats the deadline like it's their own show on the line. The work, per episode: Receive one continuous video stream (StreamYard/Google Drive link), 60–120 minutes, recorded live-to-tape, delivered to you by 5:00 PM US Central Time Remove flagged segments (rare — we provide approximate timestamps) Equalize audio throughout; make sure the opening is clean and clear Build the open: pull a ~10-second hook clip (the guest's most interesting moment), place it at the top with a music bed, then our logo, then the interview Occasionally splice in a separately recorded host intro video Add the music outro; insert 1 ad spot (occasionally 2) if one wasn't recorded live Upload finished episode to YouTube and Podhome (podhome.fm) Create a custom YouTube thumbnail Write the episode title and description with chapters, to our brand parameters Confirm the auto-generated transcript is live on both platforms Send a completion email once everything is live The non-negotiable: raw file at 5:00 PM Central → finished episode live by 5:40 AM Central the next morning. If that window is daytime in your timezone, this job fits your normal working hours — applicants from any timezone welcome. Volume: 1–3 episodes per week, averaging 2. This is a long-term anchor-client relationship for the right person, with growth into social clips and additional shows. What we provide: logo and branding assets, written brand guidelines and show parameters, flagged-segment timestamps. No approval rounds on titles, descriptions, or thumbnails — we set parameters once and you run with them. This is a serious, professional program optimized for our existing audience, not algorithm bait. On experience: it helps, but it isn't the bar. If you don't have a long track record, you can make it up in sheer grit and willingness to learn. The trial episode is the same test for everyone — a newcomer who hits 5:40 AM with a clean, serious episode beats a veteran who doesn't. If that's you, say so plainly and tell me how you'll make it work. How hiring works: I'm running a paid trial episode with a small number of candidates — same raw file, same deadline, full workflow end-to-end, paid at your quoted rate. The editor who delivers best gets the ongoing engagement. Trial file is ready now. In your proposal, include: Start your proposal with the words "5:40 AM" so I know you read this Links to 2–3 long-form interview episodes you personally edited (state your role) — or, if you're light on credits, the best edit of any kind you've made and what you'd do to win this job Your experience with overnight or same-day turnarounds, and your backup plan if your power or internet fails mid-edit Who personally does the editing — I'm hiring a person, not a team I never meet Your per-episode rate (all deliverables above included — one number, no add-ons) and a monthly rate with the episode volume it assumes Skills: Video Editing, Podcast Production, Audio Editing, YouTube, Thumbnail Design, Adobe Premiere Pro / DaVinci Resolve / Final Cut Pro
