PCB Design Engineer for Industrial Embedded Hardware
Worldwide
I am looking for an experienced electronics and PCB design engineer to help design, review, and test a set of industrial embedded hardware PCBs. The work involves industrial 24V power input protection, DC/DC power rails, opto-isolated I/O, trigger/strobe-style digital signalling, watchdog/supervisor circuits, status/service interfaces, and rugged connector design. This is an industrial electronics project, so I need someone who understands practical PCB design, component selection, protection circuits, grounding, shielding, ESD, EMC-aware layout, and prototype bring-up. The initial work will be to review the existing conceptual design and then help convert it into proper schematics, PCB layouts, manufacturing files, and test plans. Scope of Work • The selected engineer will help with: • Reviewing existing block diagrams and conceptual circuit designs. • Suggesting practical circuit improvements. • Selecting suitable industrial-grade components. • Creating schematics for prototype PCBs. • Designing PCB layouts for manufacturing. • Creating production-ready output files: o Gerbers o Drill files o BOM o Pick-and-place files o Assembly drawings o Test-point plan • Reviewing connector pinouts and inter-board wiring. • Supporting prototype bring-up and debugging. • Advising on grounding, shielding, surge protection, ESD, and EMC considerations. • Helping define validation and test procedures. Required Skills Please apply only if you have strong experience with most of the following: o Industrial embedded electronics design o 24V DC industrial power input design o Fuse / eFuse protection o Reverse-polarity protection o TVS diode and surge protection o EMI filtering for industrial power inputs o DC/DC converter design from 24V input o 12V, 5V, 3.3V and auxiliary power rail design o Power-good and rail monitoring circuits o Opto-isolated or digitally isolated inputs and outputs o PLC-compatible 24V input/output circuits o Protected high-side or low-side output drivers o TTL / 5V / 24V digital signal interface design o Trigger / pulse / strobe-style signal conditioning o Watchdog and supervisor circuits o Microcontroller support circuits o Status LED and service-button interface design o ESD protection for external connectors o Grounding, shielding and EMC-aware PCB layout o Industrial connector selection and pinout design o PCB bring-up using multimeter, oscilloscope, and bench power supply PCB Design Tool Experience Experience with any of the following tools is acceptable: o KiCad o Altium Designer o OrCAD / Cadence o EasyEDA o Eagle / Fusion Electronics o Other professional PCB design tools
