PCB Design: Small 12V Automotive Trigger Module (KiCad → JLCPCB SMT)
Worldwide
Looking for a PCB designer to lay out a small, simple utility board in KiCad and deliver production-ready files for JLCPCB SMT assembly. The schematic is already defined — I just need it drawn up properly and laid out on a small board. I am the buyer/end customer, not a PCB designer, so files need to be ready to upload to JLCPCB as-is with no further changes needed from me. **What the board does** A 12V input drives a logic-level N-channel MOSFET as a low-side switch. When 12V is present on the input, the output pin sits at chassis ground. When the input is 0V, the output floats. It's a single-FET trigger module used for automotive accessory signaling. **Circuit (already designed)** - Q1: AO3400A N-channel MOSFET, SOT-23 (LCSC C20917) - R1: 1kΩ 0603 — gate series resistor (ACC input to gate) - R2: 10kΩ 0603 — gate-to-source pull-down - D1: SMAJ15CA TVS diode across input to ground (load dump protection) - Optional D2/R3: 0603 LED + 4.7kΩ resistor across input as a visual trigger indicator (place on board, mark as DNP in BOM — I want the footprint available if I hand-populate later) **Connections** - 2 input wire pads: ACC+ (12V trigger), GND (chassis) - 1 output wire pad: OUT− (switched ground / MOSFET drain) **Board requirements** - Single-sided component placement (all SMT, one side) - Target size: as small as practical, ideally 12 × 18 mm - Wire-entry pads sized for 20-22 AWG wire — 2.0-2.5 mm round pads with strain-relief slot or solder cup style - Silkscreen labels for each pad (ACC+, GND, OUT−) - 2 layer board, 1oz copper, standard JLCPCB stackup - No mounting holes needed - Sensible trace widths for the input current path (target ~3A capability even though typical use is 500mA) **Deliverables** 1. Complete KiCad project files (current stable version, schematic + PCB) 2. Gerbers + drill files in JLCPCB-ready ZIP 3. BOM in JLCPCB CSV format with LCSC part numbers 4. CPL/Pick-and-place file in JLCPCB format 5. PDF schematic and PDF board renders (top/bottom) Before delivering, please upload the Gerbers/BOM/CPL to JLCPCB's order page yourself and confirm the design passes their DRC and assembly check with no warnings. I will be ordering 100 units assembled, so the files need to be clean and JLCPCB-validated end-to-end — I should be able to upload your ZIP, your BOM, and your CPL and proceed straight to checkout. **Skills needed** - KiCad proficiency - Experience preparing files for JLCPCB SMT assembly service specifically - Comfortable selecting LCSC basic parts to minimize assembly cost Nice to have: any background in automotive electronics or low-voltage signal switching. **To apply** Please include: - 1-2 examples of small KiCad boards you've designed and shipped through JLCPCB SMT assembly - Confirmation you've used the JLCPCB SMT service and are familiar with their BOM/CPL format
