Full-Time Remote Full Stack PHP Developer — Live Tech Startup, Long-Term Role We're Nomad Self Storage, a premium self-storage startup headquartered in Bali, built for scaling across multiple international locations. Our platform is live, making money, and growing. We're looking for a full-time remote full stack developer to own the technical day-to-day of our platform long-term. This is not a project. This is a permanent role with a company that's growing — and we're looking for the right person to grow with us. The platform: A custom-built multi-location storage management system handling both subscription and short-term customers. The backend manages unit assignment, customer move-ins and move-outs, and an interactive facility map where you can visualise, click, and manage individual storage units in real time. The facility is set up for full automation — door access and PIN assignment through TT Lock integration, individual lock sensors per unit, security systems and cameras, all connected. Customers and staff can unlock doors remotely via our iOS app and backend dashboard. We also have an AI chatbot (75% complete) integrated into our communications flow. When a customer books, the system handles everything. It's a genuinely interesting system — transactional, live, and handling real customers every day. Already architected for international expansion. The stack: PHP/MySQL, DigitalOcean, Cloudflare, WhatsApp Business API, Xendit, Stripe, TT Lock, Meta API, AI chatbot integration, custom iOS app (TestFlight). What you'll actually do: Implement backend updates and new features from clear briefs Execute front end updates from briefs — design direction is provided, you're implementing it correctly Manage and evolve the unit assignment and customer management system Complete and maintain the AI chatbot integration Support and extend remote access functionality across iOS app and backend dashboard Work through a bug backlog on a live system Manage server infrastructure on DigitalOcean and Cloudflare Maintain and extend API integrations across payments, access control, and messaging Diagnose backend issues affecting our iOS app What makes this role attractive: The codebase was originally built with AI-assisted coding and is currently being refactored and cleaned up. You'll be part of that process alongside our external technical firm who handle architecture and security. You'll work directly with a technically minded founder with a background in algorithmic trading, conversion optimisation, and backend analytics. Briefs are clear, expectations are specific, and you won't be explaining technical concepts to non-technical people. Everything has been designed in-house — you're the person who makes it run. This is a startup that's already working — you're not joining an idea, you're joining a business with real customers and real revenue. What we're looking for: 2–5 years PHP/MySQL experience across frontend and backend. Comfortable with server management and third-party API integrations. Someone who reads code before they touch it. Reliable, communicative, and hungry to be part of something long-term. We're not looking for a contractor — we're looking for someone who wants to build something with us.
