Part-Time Bubble.io Developer (Canvas) | Take Ownership of a Live Job Board

**Type:** Part-time, ongoing **Location:** Remote **Hours:** 5-10 hours a week (initially) ## About Us We're building **AEC Tech Jobs**, a niche job board connecting professionals with technology companies across the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry: https://aectechjobs.com/ The platform is already live, serving real employers and job seekers, and is built in **Bubble.io** using the **Airdev Canvas** framework. It also benefits from an established media ecosystem, including newsletters, industry content, and an engaged audience that already drives traffic to the platform. We're looking for a Bubble developer who wants to take ownership of the product and help shape its next stage of growth. ## The Role You'll be the primary developer responsible for improving and maintaining AEC Tech Jobs. You'll build new features, resolve bugs, optimize performance, and help evolve the platform as we grow. You won't be working alone. You'll have: * A **senior Bubble developer** who reviews your work, provides technical guidance, and helps you develop your skills. * A **project manager** who handles planning, prioritization, and communication so you can focus on building. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, thinks beyond individual tasks, and enjoys improving products over time. Ideally we would like someone who can work long term on a consistent part time basis after a trial period. ## What You'll Be Doing * Building new features across the platform, including employer dashboards, candidate profiles, job posting workflows, search and filtering, and internal admin tools. * Working within the **Airdev Canvas** framework using its components, admin portal, and Chrome extension. * Setting up and maintaining integrations such as payments, email notifications, automations, and external APIs. * Improving application performance, scalability, and maintainability. * Troubleshooting issues and fixing bugs before they impact users. * Testing your own work and maintaining a high standard of quality. * Collaborating asynchronously with the project manager and senior developer. ## What We're Looking For You should already be comfortable with: * Bubble.io development. * Database design and data modelling. * Dynamic expressions. * Workflows and custom events. * Reusable elements. * Conditional logic. * Option sets. * Bubble's responsive engine. * Privacy rules. * Debugging and testing your own work. * Git-style thinking around making clean, maintainable changes. * Clear written communication and the ability to work remotely. ### Airdev Canvas Experience Experience with **Airdev Canvas** is strongly preferred (though we can teach you). Ideally you've worked with: * Canvas reusable components. * The Canvas admin portal. * The Canvas Chrome extension. * Existing Canvas page structures. * Protected `system_` (⚙) elements and understanding what should and shouldn't be modified. ## Nice to Have (But Not Required) We're happy to hire someone earlier in their Bubble career if they have strong fundamentals and a willingness to learn. Our senior developer can help you grow in areas such as: ### Performance * Reducing unnecessary searches. * Optimizing page load speed. * Backend workflows. * Efficient database design. * Pagination. * Caching strategies. * Structuring applications for long-term scalability. ### Integrations * Bubble API Connector. * REST APIs. * OAuth and API key authentication. * Webhooks. * Stripe. * SendGrid or similar email providers. * Zapier or Make. * External automation platforms. If you already have experience in these areas, that's fantastic. If not, we're looking for someone who's curious, capable, and eager to improve. ## What Success Looks Like After a few months you should: * Understand the architecture of the platform. * Be confidently shipping features with minimal supervision. * Identify opportunities to improve the product without being asked. * Write maintainable Bubble applications that are easy for others to build on. * Become a trusted technical partner for the platform. ## How to Apply Please include the following with your application. ### 1.
