Part-Time Remote Paralegal / Legal Document Specialist Growing Kansas M&A law firm seeking a part-time remote paralegal and legal document specialist to support a transaction law practice in the M&A space. This is not a litigation position. We are looking for an experienced paralegal who enjoys producing exceptionally accurate and professional legal documents. Primary Responsibilities Your responsibilities will include: • Reviewing, revising, formatting, wordsmithing, and proofreading complex transaction documents, including Asset Purchase Agreements, Stock Purchase Agreements, Commercial Leases, LLC Operating Agreements, Promissory Notes, Security Agreements, and Employment and Termination Agreements. • Preparing first drafts from templates and prior agreements. • Managing document versions and template compliance. • Preparing transaction checklists and closing documents . Required Qualifications The ideal candidate will have: • Excellent legal and issue-spotting skills. • Significant experience supporting business and transactional attorneys. • Experience with mergers and acquisitions and other corporate transactions. • Experience and fluency with MS Word, MyCase, Spellbook, and general AI tools. • Excellent English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and proofreading skills. • Excellent written communication skills. • Exceptional attention to detail. • Strong organizational and time management abilities. • A professional and responsive work style. Technical Skills The ideal candidate should be comfortable using modern legal technology, including: • Microsoft Word at an advanced level, including track changes and document comparison, styles, automatic numbering, cross references, tables of contents, headers and footers, and document formatting. • MyCase • Spellbook • Chat GPT or similar AI tools. Wordsmithing Skills • Catch formatting inconsistencies. • Correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, spacing, margins, pagination, numbering, missing Oxford commas, and similar documents.
