Part-Time Online AP Literature Tutor (1-on-2)

Job Overview We are seeking experienced AP Literature instructors for long-term online 1-on-2 tutoring. Each session lasts 60 minutes. All teaching follows official College Board AP Literature curriculum standards and US high school Grade9–12 Honors/AP English classroom teaching framework, focusing on students’ literary analysis ability and academic reading & writing cultivation for overseas high school academic progression. Job Responsibilities 1. Deliver full-English close reading instruction covering novels, poems, plays and literary essays in line with official AP syllabus; analyze literary devices, author’s purpose, thematic expression as standard US high school AP class does. 2. Design personalized learning plans according to learner’s current proficiency, assign targeted reading & analytical writing tasks after class, submit lesson summary and concise progress feedback periodically. 3. Utilize official past exam materials to help learners consolidate curriculum knowledge, sort out analytical essay logic and academic writing norms aligned with College Board scoring rubrics. 4. Cooperate with our curriculum team to polish teaching materials and handouts consistently. Job Requirements 1. Bachelor’s degree or above in English Literature, Comparative Literature or related majors; Master’s degree preferred. Relevant degree certification available upon request. 2. Practical teaching experience: formal AP Literature / Honors English / ELA teaching experience at US public/private high schools or international high schools with American curriculum; former AP Reader or College Board certified AP trainer is a big plus. 3. Native-level / C2 proficient English, capable of independent full-English teaching without assistant support, familiar with US close reading pedagogy. 4. Stable internet, HD camera and quiet teaching environment; flexible to arrange class schedule matching students’ free time.Open to teach on ClassIn, careful and result-focused. 5. Prior experience linking literary reading with SAT critical reading learning is preferred. Compensation & Cooperation Terms 1. Payment calculated per completed 60-min class, monthly settlement; hourly rate negotiable based on qualification and teaching experience. 2. Remote part-time role with no in-office attendance required; long-term cooperation available.
