Our marketing is bold, our voice is honest, and we sweat the details. About the Role We're hiring a content and community VA to bring our marketing to life across social media, email, and our photo library. You'll work with our Marketing Team and take content strategy direction from our social media strategist. Your job is to make it happen: schedule the posts, design the graphics, respond to the community, build the weekly emails, and keep our photo library organized and ready to use. This is a hands-on execution role. If you love social media, have an eye for good design, feel confident in Canva, know how to talk to a community like a real person, and get satisfaction from turning one great photo into ten pieces of content, this one is for you. Hours - 10 to15 hours per week - Must be available during US Eastern time working hours (roughly 9pm to 1am PHT for a 9am to 1pm EST overlap) What You'll Do Social & Community - Schedule social media posts (Instagram, Pinterest, and others) based on the strategy our social media lead provides - Respond to comments on our social posts in our brand voice - Respond to Google reviews using our voice and guidelines - Proactively engage and comment on relevant accounts as directed - Update Instagram stories regularly to boost engagement - Pull weekly and monthly social media reports (reach, engagement, top posts) Creative & Design - Create Pinterest pins using our templates - Design new Canva assets and edit existing ones on brand - Complete trip brochures using photos and copy provided - Make small copy and design tweaks to keep everything aesthetically aligned - Turn one asset into many by repurposing content across channels - Follow our brand guidelines Photo Library Management - Organize incoming photos from adventure guides after every trip - Rename, tag, and sort into Dropbox folders following our photo SOP - Cull duplicates and unusable shots, flag the best ones for marketing use - Keep the photo library structured so anyone on the team can find what they need - Coordinate with guides when files are missing or incomplete - Choose pictures from guides' Google Photos albums for social posts, emails, and website use WordPress and website - Update navigation menus, redirects, and forms as needed - Update and edit pages with attention to layout, mobile responsiveness, and visual consistency - Publish and format blog posts, including image handling, alt text, categories, tags, and internal linking - Manage the media library so it stays organized and doesn't balloon Email - Build the weekly Mailchimp email using copy provided by our Marketing Team - Design with strong visual layout and photos that fit our brand - Make adjustments as needed based on feedback Content Support - Pull trending keywords from Pinterest Trends - Upload videos from the Slack channel to Dropbox Must-Haves - Strong Canva skills. You can work quickly from templates and design new assets that stay on brand. This will be tested in the skills task. - Social media savvy. You've managed Instagram and Pinterest for a brand before and understand the differences between platforms. - An eye for photography. You know which photos work for which platforms and can spot the difference between a great shot and an okay one. - Written English that's clear, warm, and can match a brand voice - Experience with Mailchimp or a similar email platform (specifically building and designing emails) - Comfort with Asana or a similar project management tool - Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet workspace during EST hours - Attention to detail. You catch typos, off-brand colors, and formatting issues before they ship. - You follow written SOPs carefully and ask clarifying questions when something is unclear - Comfortable using Loom for video walkthroughs and async updates Nice-to-Haves - Community management experience for a brand (you know how to sound human, not corporate) - Basic photo editing skills (Lightroom, Photoshop, or similar) for light retouching and color correction - Video editing basics (CapCut, Descript, or similar) - Copywriting background - Basic WordPress skills (you won't be the primary WordPress person, but helpful to understand) - Comfortable using Claude or ChatGPT to draft, summarize, or repurpose content - Background in travel, events, or experience-based brands How We Work - Async first. We use Slack for chat and Loom for video updates. You'll send an end-of-shift summary so the team knows where things stand. - Direct communication. If you spot a problem, tell us. If something is unclear, ask. - Documented. If it happens more than twice, we build an SOP for it. Hiring Process 1. Application review. We read every one. 2. Personality assessment. Shortlisted candidates complete a personality assessment so we can understand your working style. 3. Skills task. A short (30 to 45 minute) paid task using sample assets we provide. You'll design a Canva graphic from a brief, choose photos for a mock social post, and draft a short caption. Everything happens in your own Canva account with dummy materials. No access to our systems needed. 4. Interview. A 30-minute video call with our Marketing Team. 5. Paid probation. If we're both interested, you start on a 2-week paid probation at 10 hours per week, working on real projects with real SOPs at your full hourly rate. Once we know we are fit for each other, regular hours will begin after that.
